Grain Marketer

Grain Marketing Manager

Summary/Objective: Work extensively with producers helping them to better market their grain while utilizing Legacy Farmers’ marketing programs. You must be able to make decisions and work independently, be detail oriented with excellent communications skills.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Help local producers market their grain and call on new accounts Work with producers updating them on market trends, current grain quotes, grain programs and policies, and form grain marketing plans Work closely with Grain Division personnel (i.e., Grain Marketers, Grain Marketing Manager, Grain Manager, Transportation Manager, and Accountants) in exchange of information. Work with elevator staff in the exchange of information to enhance grain operations and customer communication Also, work with personnel from Legacy’s other business units (i.e., Agronomy and Fuel) to promote a cross selling culture Communicate bid changes and closing bids to customers Perform daily hedging activities Provide excellent customer service and develop lasting working relationships with customers and potential customers
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree Working knowledge of ag business and/or experience in the grain industry preferred Good computer skills Valid driver’s license with clean driving record Self-motivated and ability to work well with others and independently Required to uphold LFC’s Credit and Safety policies Ability to adapt to and work longer and/or varied hours during busy season as the needs of the business dictate Customer-service focused Strong interpersonal and verbal communications skills All other duties as assigned by management
Miscellaneous Information & Preferred Experience:
No mandatory overnight travel Standard work week is Monday through Friday; needs of the business may dictate exceptions to this standard Applicants agree to be drug tested as a condition of employment and will not be hired should he/she fail to produce a negative test Basic computer skills Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies Possesses flexibility and adaptability in meeting constraints and demands
