Bloomingdale Youth Sports Association Managers & Coaches Training + Certification Requirements Babe Ruth / Cal Ripken All Park Volunteers must obtain a BYSA ID Badge to participate in our leagues. ID Badges must be worn at all times, when on the fields, batting cages and dugouts. Those in violation will be asked to leave the field. To obtain a Coaches BYSA ID Badge, please follow the directions below. Submit a BYSA volunteer application, provided by your league. This application will give us permission to perform a background check. You will be required to have a current Coaches Certification card. We will also need a small photo for your badge. Only Coaches selected to help with each team will be issued a badge. 1. You can turn in your volunteer application by putting it in the Volunteer Coordinator box at the Bloomingdale Civic Center or give it to a Park Administrator. Please make sure you provide your SSN, sign the application and provide a copy of your driver’s license. (If you prefer, you may put the application in a sealed envelope addressed to Volunteer Coordinator.) You can also email it to:
[email protected]. 2. Obtain your Coaching Certification. You can obtain a coaching certification by attending one of the free Hillsborough County classes. Location will be at the Bloomingdale Civic Center or the Rec Center at Canoga Park. We will inform you of the location as soon as it is determined 3. You can also take the online course at a cost of $25. At the completion of the course you will be able to print a temporary card. Your “hard” card will be mailed to you. [email protected]. At this time, the Hillsborough County Class and the NAYS online course are the only approved classes BYSA will accept. To obtain a Team Mom/Dad Volunteer BYSA ID Badge, please follow the directions below. 1. Submit a BYSA volunteer application, provided by your league. First Aid Certification: You are encouraged to have a current first aid card in your possession. Fist Aid will also be covered in the Managers’ Orientation, and will suffice as a minimum.
