Basketball Rules & Regulations 1. All 3rd thru 6th Grade teams must play Man-to-Man Defense. 7th and 8th Grade teams can play either man or zone defense. -

No Double-teaming in in the frontcourt, help and recover is allowed.

2. Full court pressure is allowed at the 7th, 8th, and High School level grades only. -

No press allowed on 15 points difference – 7th and 8th grade

3. All games will consist of (2) 18-minute halves. Running Clock until the last two minutes of each half. 4. Each Team will receive 1 Timeout per half. No Carry-over (use it or lose it). 5. Jump Ball to start the game alternating possession thereafter. 6. Bonus is in effect on the teams 7th Team Foul. Double Bonus on the 10th Team Foul. 7. No overtime period - if teams are tied at the end of regulation – one free throw will be taken by each of the 5 players that ended the 2nd half of play. The team with the most makes after 5 attempts will be the winner. We will repeat until we have a winner. (Both teams will shoot at their basket at the same time) 8. Two Coaches are allowed on the Bench Area that are admitted free to the tournament. (No Score Keepers on Bench Area – We provide them and they are the official scorer) -

NO COACHES BOX – Coaches will need to sit to coach their team.

Officials will only communicate with the Head Coach, not the assistant coach

9. All teams need white and dark reversible jerseys. 10. All Registered Players and two coaches are admitted free -

All others are required to pay door admission.

11. All other rules not listed are covered by WIAA Rules. 12. Clock will continue to run last 2 minutes with a deficit of 15 points or more. 13. No Awards to Teams – Round Robin Format.

This is a place to teach and have players learn the game of Basketball Sportsmanship is a Life Lesson

Additional Information on Wayland Academy Teams need to bring reversible jerseys with a Dark/Light side with numbers. No warm up balls will be available – You must provide Each team will have two coaches and their team admitted for free. All other adults must pay admission. Admission: (Whole Day)

Please arrive at your playing Court at least 25 minutes prior to tip-off time. We will try to start game early if we can. Wayland Academy Field House: The field house location is on the university campus. It will not have a street address on your GPS. The field house is a big round building located on the corner of Park and University Streets.

Please tell your parents and spectators to not park on the grass!
