Outstanding Business addressed:
Guest: Luis Rec coach Has concerns regarding how a game played out during a game. Fellow coach Velasquez told his player to turn around and kick the ball into the goal to have his (Luis Team) max out on points and apply the mercy rule against his team. Perla: This is something to address with coaches as a sportsmanship issue Doug: This is also something that should be jotted down on the game card by the ref or opposing coach Liz: can we have coaches sign the game cards at the end of the game vs at the beginning of the game Luke: myb we can look into a coaching cert of some sort for rec coaches that will help with issues like this. Luis: Next Issue: Can we allow for a returning coach to have a returning Asst coach and a returning Team mom. Specifically with the new popcorn rule.
Nick: I don’t think its realistic to please everyone. Myb later one we will go the route of having the coaches make those decisions who they want or don’t and make those calls but at this point we have to adhere to the rules.
Charlotte: Webers Point went well. We should look into giveaways to the crowd, a lot of people there. It was a good event. Referee Liaison: (Doug) We are working on contract modifications. We would like to be able to provide referres always but with last minute changes or cancellations this is not always possible. The contract is all negotiobal we need to come with a mutually beneficial contract with rules tht everyone can adhere too. At the board retreat back in Jan we talked about not having refs at the u8 level We feel its not a good use of the leagues money so will propose to do away with refs at the u8 level. Nick: we expanded our budget to allow refs at the u8 level, we would like to still continue with refs at that age group. Luis: the field is getting bigger we would still like to have refs. Nick: I don’t think coaches want to have to ref their own games. Doug: on another note: we will no longer go with 2 refs it should be 1 or 3 Bobbie: u9 should be 1 ref Older should be 3 Doug: Comp should always be 3 Doug: We are hosting ref classes in town on July 30th –Aug 8-10-11-13 days all one class after that you receive your ref cert. The age of a ref is flexible based more on maturity level typically older than 12. If you attend this class your license is good in till 2018 Charlotte (Tops): Perla found out thru District 8th that that they lost the grant for this program. The grant was about $1500 and its no longer available. Joey: we can do a fundraiser to cover the cost of this program the chipotle was a great success. Perla: eddies pizza is as well Bobbie: we should reach out to Sal Nolfo to potentially take on our fundraising position he could be a great help REC COORDINATORS (Roy & DJ): DJ: I heard there was a situation with the tournament regarding the goals ? Nick: same thing we’ve dealt with thru out the year lack of communication. DJ: I spoke with Leslie and she said the size of the goals where different. Luis: no I feel the goals were the same Nick: yes the goals were the same Joey: the concern would be if teams in the same age brackets played in different fields with different sized goals Bobbie: I would like to say Thank you to Charlotte for bagging up all the shirts and items and making everything look so organized. And Joey and Tim where out there and it was great to see board members
Joey: We need to address the EOS tournament from the beginning and let the players know from the get go. Jose: add it to the schedule from the beginning so coaches and parents know a lot of parents were not aware. DJ: notice in the office as well so people are aware.
Office Admin: 15 coaches for rec 51 registrations on line 20 boys in office 30 girls in office We started 3 weeks earlier this year if it helps we should do a few nights of registration LUKE: COMP COORDINATORS (Joey & Tim): We are having a team manager and coaches meeting on the 14th and a parent meeting on the 19th to go over the budget for comp Bobbie: There is a Club Development meeting that Tim/Joey/Bobbie will be attending on July 2nd in las Positas College Joey: they will touch on how to run rec and comp programs Bobbie: its hosted by Norcal PERLA: District 8th meeting cancelled the only thing to be discussed was the Canadian company that has goals that are adjustable to all different sizes and us club mandates. Bobbie: I got that as well I sent out the info to Randy. Perla: they are offering a discount TREASURES REPORT (Cassie): As you know Jena is no longer with us. Ive been working with Michelle Boccoa as a potential new treasurer As of right now Cassie will continue with treasure duties on the comp side she will work on reconciliation the account with the bank Perla: what is Jenas level of commitment with the payroll aspect of it. Bobbie: she is okay with it intill we find someone to take it over. Cassie: I can continue with it till we find someone.
Vice President Report: Not much to report everything is moving slowly. I told them we want those fields and we want to have them for a long period of time. She will discuss it with her boss. The ball is in their court and it will most likely be 6 weeks before we hear anything back.
Randy:
Presidents Report: We pay $1500 to set up and take down the goals this isn’t being done. Nick: we need to change the contract that we have set up with them so that it reflects what they are doing and we can pay based on a per job done not a flat fee Bobbie: we also need to get out to the lockers and clean them out. We also need more people from the rec side on the board.. Jose and Luis? Myb you can help recruit?
