Bob Jones High School Football Policies and Procedures The Bob Jones Football program will take a holistic approach with each participant. It is our goal to encourage total player development. We will focus on strengthening a participant’s mental, academic and athletic abilities. It is our goal to be instrumental in our player’s college placement.
Player Etiquette
Players are expected to be student athletes. o Students must take the ACT standardized test a minimum of five (5) times. o Students that are incurring academic challenges are to attend Study Hall. o Students must meet and maintain academic eligibility in order to participate with the team. Should a student’s eligibility change, the student and parent are responsible for notifying the Head Coach. Students are expected not to jeopardize the team! Registration Requirements o In order to participate, students must turn in a current Physical Form, Concussion Form, Release Form and Insurance Form. o There is a NON- REFUNDABLE, three hundred and fifty dollar ($350.00) player participation fee. If a student is on the National School Lunch Program (Free or Reduced Lunch), they are responsible for paying a reduced player participation fee of one hundred and seventy-five dollars ($175.00). The player participation fee can be paid or raised by fundraisers. o Players are required to purchase their NON- REFUNDABLE 2016-17 school year Spirit Pack in January 2016. The cost is two hundred dollars ($200.00) and price may be subject to change o All fees are Non-refundable. Game/Practice Requirements o Players are required to attend all practices including, but not limited to (Labor Day, Fall Break, Veterans Day and Thanksgiving). o Should a player need to be absent from a practice or a game, the player must go to the Head Coach to discuss the situation. Only the Head Coach can excuse you. o Players are to practice and play with maximum effort. Volunteer Requirements o Players are expected to participate in Booster Club activities and may be required to volunteer on occasion. o Players are expected to fundraise as a means of supporting the BJ Football program. Player Integrity and Conduct o Students are to have a Team First attitude and always display a spirit of Sportsmanship. o Players are representatives of the BJ Football Program at all times and are expected to conduct themselves accordingly at school and in the community. They are to be respectful to themselves and to others. o Players are expected to abide by all school rules and AHSAA rules.

Players are expected to abide by all Zoning Regulations. Any player fine that is mandated by AHSAA must be paid to BJ Football by Cash, Certified Check or Money Order within five (5) business days.
Discipline
Should a player warrant being dismissed from the team, dismissal will come from the Head Coach.
Parent Etiquette
Support the Student-Athlete o Parents are expected to stay abreast of their student’s academic progress. Students must meet and maintain academic eligibility in order to participate with the team. Should a student’s eligibility change, the student and parent are responsible for notifying the Head Coach. Please do not jeopardize the team! Volunteer Expectations o Parents are expected to assist their player in fundraising efforts as a means of supporting the BJ Football program. o Parents are expected to volunteer on occasion, as needed. Playing Time o Playing time is not debatable and will not be discussed with parents. Conflict Resolution o Parental concerns will be handled in person. Parents are to request a formal meeting via email at
[email protected] and a response will be given within twenty-four hours (24 hours) and an agreeable date and time for said meeting will be set. Parent Integrity and Conduct o Parents are expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all times during practices, games and any other events. Parents are expected to treat everyone with dignity and respect. o Parents are expected to have a Team First attitude. o Parents are to be educated on AHSAA rules and regulations. Parents are to adhere to all Academic and Zoning Requirements. They are to keep their player eligible to participate and notify the Head Coach if eligibility is threatened. Parents are expected to not jeopardize the team! o Should a player incur a fine from AHSAA, the parent is expected to pay the BJ Football Program the fine by Cash, Certified Check or Money Order within five (5) business days.
