Peace Week The Peace Week postcards, designed and made by the children are being displayed around the school.
Open Afternoon It was great to see so many of you at our Open Afternoon on Friday. We hope that you enjoyed seeing your child’s classroom and meeting their teacher.
The Great Bond Bake Off The Bond Bake Off begins today and runs for the next two weeks. Your delicious entries will be judged and winners announced— the winner from each class will take part in the final on Friday 9th October. Please bring your cakes in on the following days: Monday 28th Sept—Nursery and Reception Tuesday 29th September—Year 1 and Year 2 Wednesday 30th Sept. - Teaching Assistants and Midday Supervisors Thursday 1st October—Year 3 and Year 4 Monday 5th October—Year 5 and Year 6 Tuesday 6th October—Teachers Friday 9th October—The Grand Final!! Proceeds in aid of McMillan Cancer Support and Bond Playground Parent Review Day—Wednesday 7th October Letters will be coming home this week about Parent Review Day on Wednesday 7th October. Please return your slip requesting a time for your meeting with your child’s teacher. Art Club Children who attend the Art Club have taken part in a competition to design a Christmas Tree Poster, organised by the police.
Punctuality Polar Bear Class had 100% punctuality.
On Friday 3B will be holding their class assembly at 9.10 am. Parents and friends are very welcome to attend. There will be a cake sale after school.
Reading at Home One of the ways to encourage your child to read at home is to let them see you reading for pleasure….. magazines, newspapers are fine as many busy parents don’t have time for a book! Share a book with your child too, talk about the pictures and read to them. A child who enjoys books will develop a reading habit for life.

Thunk of the Week ‘Can you see darkness?’ suggested by Leo (Year 6).
Year 4 On Wednesday this week Year 4 will be taking a trip to Waddon in order to follow the River Wandle. This is part of their curriculum work. ARK Act of Random Kindness Next week is the launch of ARK Week. The theme is the ‘power of words’. We will be encouraging the children to think especially hard about the words that they use to others. The Hope Bus will also be parked on school grounds—do pay a visit to the bus when you come in to school for Parent Review Day.
