BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP POLICE AND BORDENTOWN REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT PARTNER TO OFFER L.E.A.D. TRAINING TO MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS The Bordentown Township Police Department is proud to announce that it’s School Resource Officer has begun instructing the L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs) program to 6th grade students at the Bordentown Regional Middle School. The L.E.A.D. program consists of ten lessons to help students resist pressures which may influence them to experiment with alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, inhalants, and other drugs. Students will be introduced to the new evidence based, proven effective drug prevention program called Too Good for DRUGS. This program meets all common core curriculum standards along with New Jersey’s drug prevention laws. The program will teach students the importance of Goal Setting, Decision Making, Identifying and Managing Emotions, Effective Communication, Bonding and Relationships. The program will also teach students how to manage mistakes and help them identify what peer pressure is and how to use peer-pressure refusal strategies.
