Agenda: 1.

Opening Prayer – led by Pastor Milatz a. Introductory comments (PM): Changes to our Church constitution this Fall, returning the group Elders, officially to the Church – prayerful support for Pastor Vogel and Milatz b. PM works most closely with Inactive Group due to the delicate nature of many of the situations c. Work of groups on BOSC is so important to PM & PV – opening church on Sunday mornings d. Reference to Acts 4 – how our minds go to the place of being taken advantage of; challenge of how the church is present and where, traveling members, members who are gone during Summer at cabins – most active members are present 40/52 Sundays; people purposefully seek out churches where they do not stand out; effort to keep people connected – used to be that church was the 3rd life in your family (a strong connection) – all reasons why BOSC is so very important i. 2 challenges facing SOTL – 1. Being faithful to God’s Word and 2. How do we stay connected in people’s busy lives – praying for strong Leadership within our Church (desire to keep people connected)

Introduction of New Members – M. Neuemeyer a. Reintroduction of all members in attendance this evening b. Welcome to New BOSC Members – Tracy Muck and Judy Heuvelman

Who We Are – M. Neuemeyer a. BOSC are the “gears” that keep SOTL a community, from Usher to Communion Service – individual teams and all of their responsibilities – Greeters to Visitor Team

Accountability – M. Neuemeyer a. To advise and assist Pastors with service to Members of our Church

b. Support Pastors office by providing care – communicator to the Church c. Pray and provide support for Pastors and their families and fellow members of our Board d. Worship Service coverage, especially during special services – commitment to the Church and to Christ, by serving 1-2/month e. Assist congregation members to find service opportunities and connection to Small Groups, be part of one or begin one f. We do not govern the congregation – Board of Directors performs this function g. Qualifications – interacting with Pastor, accepting Holy Scripture as Word of God, prayer and repentance, Bible Study, Team player that supports SOTL’s function 5.

Goals for Congregation for 2015-2016 – M. Neuemeyer a. Encourage, invite and pray for (at least) one person for 365 days. b. Give regularly and sacrificially to support our ministry (use of EFT to maintain consistency). c. Participate in Education Hour, not leaving immediately following service, and a Small Group. d. Serve in one ministry that fits your talents and availability. e. Avoid gossip, negativity, indifference, covetousness and greed.

Planning Center Training – J. Yeakey a. Options now include both e-mail notifications and text messaging b. Altar Guild, Communion Assistant, Greeter, Reader, Acolyte, Ushers – those serving on Sunday mornings (App for Smart phones and hard copy will be placed in Usher Room) – all to be complete by Rally Day c. Invitations sent by Janna in July, included sign-in (email address) and password – want to set-up password d. My Schedule will show those Sundays where you are serving e. BOSC has Communion and Non-Communion Teams f. Sign-up Requests to Serve generated by Janna, only see BOSC g. Can be integrated with Outlook Calendar h. If Janna signs you up, you will receive a message to Accept or Decline i. Reminder notifications will be sent via e-mail and/or text message – will include arrival times and service times (modifications can be made to these choices – e-mail or text) j. Janna will send out updated information in BOSC binders – e-mail and Drop Box

Team Goals – J. Yeakey – Captains will be assigned for each team a. New Member – recently met, talking about changing New member packets, intentional efforts to connect b. Inactive Care – meeting

c. Active Care – Ministry Fair shows/displays every ministry within our church, with opportunity for people to serve d. Visitor Care – packet to give to Greeters, training to be more welcoming e. Worship Care - Great understanding of Planning Center App 8.
