Brea Olinda High School JV TOURNAMENT 2017 Dear JV Coach: Welcome to the 32nd Annual Brea Olinda Junior Varsity Volleyball Tournament. I am looking forward to productive and exciting tournament. Please review the following important tournament information: Location: Brea Olinda High School is located at 789 Wildcat Way in Brea (92821). The school is located just east of the 57 Freeway off Lambert. Date & Time: Saturday, October 7, 2017 Games will start at 8am. *A short coaches meeting will start at 7:30 to discuss pools and playoffs. Please be on time since pools, games times, etc. are subject to last minute changes. Pools: Court 1 1) Glendora 2) Troy 3) La Serna 4) Valencia Schedule:

Format: Pool play will be two out of three rally scoring games to 25 with a 27 cap. Game three will be played to 15 with a 17 cap. Coaches will be allowed 2 time outs per game. Any team that fails to report to their court within 5 minutes of their game time will forfeit the match. Warm ups will consist of each team getting 5 minutes of their own court time at the beginning of their first match. If it is not your team’s 5 minutes, we ask that you
please hold the balls so we don’t have ball interference on other courts or possible injuries. After pool play, the top 8 teams will continue in a single elimination gold playoff bracket. The remaining four teams will continue into a consolation bracket. Pool ties will be broken by head to head results, points for, points against, and a single rally scoring game to 15 if necessary. We will also try not to pair teams in the first round of playoffs that met in pool play. Awards: Team trophies will be given to 1st and 2nd place teams. The team that gets 1st place will also be given 15 T-shirts. First Aid: Teams are responsible for treating their own athletes. There will be no athletic trainer available for the day. Admission: Adults: $3.00 Students w. ASB card: $2.00 Children 5-12 with Adult: $2.00 Children Under 5 Free *No faculty or league passes *CIF passes will be accepted Entry Fees: The Athletic Director has received a letter stating the entry fee amount for the tournament and when it is due. Please make sure it has been paid. No teams will be allowed to play until Jill Matyuch, the A.D. at Brea Olinda, has received the fee. Gym Rules: Food and drink are NOT allowed inside the gym. Athletes are encouraged to have water. (Please do not bring sports drinks into the gym.) Beach chairs will not be permitted; however we will provide bleachers for parents and spectators. There will be room outside for equipment and to warm up between matches. A snack bar will be open for breakfast and lunch all day during the tournament. A taco stand will also be available.
