Want to learn how to take out a reserve textbook? Ever think your anatomy grade could be better, if you only had a brain (model)? Can we lend you an ear (model)? Want to know where you can print out your notes? Is Google not giving you the answers to your questions and want to learn who you can call for help? Not sure what journals, textbooks, and e-resources are available to you or how to access them? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then you need to attend this session hosted by the Boxer Library staff. The session will begin with a tour of the various Boxer Library learning spaces including the Learning Commons, Quiet Study Space, group study rooms and more. The second part of the session will be an overview of our instructional services as well as the educational resources available to help you succeed in your chosen professional program. Whether you have been to campus several times already or you have only just arrived for the first time, this tour will uncover the perfect places to study, eat, meet with faculty and staff, get a workout, etc.

Developing a Personal Budget for Graduate School Presented by: Elizabeth Hamilton, Financial Aid Counselor, Student Financial Services Understanding your Financial Aid and budgeting is important to figuring out how you are spending your money and where you can save. This session will cover budgeting basics, how to manage on a student budget, and the basics of Financial Aid.
Effective Time Management and Study Strategies in Graduate School Presented by: Beth Friedman, Academic Support Specialist, Academic and Retention Services Professional school may be the busiest time of your life. It will often seem like there are not enough hours in the day. This session will focus on how (and why) to create a study schedule that promotes academic confidence and success. Learn about a variety of strategies that will help you to be an efficient student and an effective time manager.

Join us outdoors (weather permitting) at the South Athletic Field/basketball court (located by the Woodlands) to get a taste of services and activities provided by the Office of Fitness and Recreation. Play some pick-up soccer, toss the Frisbee around, play corn hole, or shoot some hoops. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, meet us in the Group Aerobics room for corn hole, pop-a-shot and some information on fitness classes, intramurals and the different programming available.

There will also be pop-a-shot, corn-hole and a weighted hula-hoop contest!
Grad/Med School Health: Living in Balance Presented by: Kim Cecil, LCSW, Student Counseling Services Julie Waites, Psy.D, Student Counseling Services In this breakout session we will consider the impact of transition, including the balance challenge, as you begin your experience at RFUMS. We will identify strategies for positive adaptation and optimizing your well-being in order to be living in balance. Multiple modalities will be used to illustrate these concepts.
How to Google Presented by: RFUMS Students Google can be an excellent tool to help you stay organized, study or take notes, and a good way to collaborate with peers. This session will help you sync your devices and show you new ways to interact with Google at RFUMS.
Living in Lake County Presented by: Giovanni Incandela, SCPM Student Get to know what resources and amenities are available to you while living in the area. From fun, to food, to living, knowing your environment for the next couple years is pivotal. The Lake County area has plenty to offer from trails to ride, excellent restaurants to try, and maybe even a beach to catch some sun.
Tech Savvy Note Takers Presented by: Gurleen Cheema, Shruti Dosi, and Neha Singla, RFUMS Students iPads, tablets, and computers can be an essential note taking technology with the right apps. This seminar will provide an overview on how iPads, PCs, tablets and MacBook computers can be used as an effective learning tool. For iPad users, the app “iAnnotate” will be discussed, for Macbook users the app "preview" will be discussed and for PC Computer and tablet users, the app “OneNote” will be discussed.
