A Sooner Year Done Right Just because it is the end of the semester does not mean that the there are no longer classes. Consider enrolling in Summer Session. When you take classes during the summer you are not only using your banked hours you are helping yourself succeed in the future! For details go to page 3!
Gateway’s VIPs Each month Bridging The Gap will feature a Gateway administrator, instructor or worker who exhibits leadership, a hard work ethic and kindness to Gateway
Dr. Lisa Portwood, Assistant Dean of University College [email protected]
Dr. Lisa Portwood is the newly appointed Assistant Dean of the University College. She received her Bachelor of Arts at Cameron University. She received her masters in Education at the University of Oklahoma and her doctorate at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Portwood always makes herself available to any student who needs help. Additionally, she helps to make sure that students succeed at the University of Oklahoma. In the past she taught Strategies for Success to students who fell below a 2.0 and below their first semester at OU. She showed passion, kindness and worked extremely hard to make sure that students felt comfortable in a college-learning environment. She is an amazing asset to the Gateway to College Learning team!

Bridging The Gap to College Learning at The University of Oklahoma Bridging the Gap is a newsletter that is distributed monthly to all Gateway to College Learning students, instructors and Freshman Programs staff. It will include information about on-campus events, tips and tricks for students, profiles of the amazing Gateway instructors, study tips and how to be a successful student at the University of Oklahoma. This is a newsletter that helps students succeed and start to become more involved at the University of Oklahoma.
