So you have joined the sisterhood of the EWGA, but you're not playing!!! WHY??? I hear on a daily basis all the reasons why new golfers are afraid to get on the course : " I'm too bad, " " I don't know what to do, " " I don't know anyone to play with, " " I don't know who to ask or for that matter where to go. " If these are some of your concerns, then The EWGA Fairway Friends Program is made for you. The program teams experienced golfers with newer golfers to help them feel comfortable on the golf course. Mentoring is what EWGA is all about - helping women enter the game of golf in a fun, supportive and welcoming environment! Who is a Mentor? A mentor is an experienced, but not necessarily good golfer who guides a new golfer on pace of play, basic rules and proper etiquette on and off the golf course. Also, a mentor may guide the new member on how to participate in other EWGA events.
GOLF EDUCATION PROGRAMS for 2011 EWGA Golf Education & Player Development programs provide members and prospective members with quality education. Working with local PGA and LPGA teaching professionals, the Richmond Chapter will offer the following programs:
Who is a Mentee? A mentee is someone making the transition from instruction to playing on a golf course. A mentee is paired with a mentor to guide them around the golf course safely and answer questions about etiquette, basic rules and the other nuances of the game in order to build confidence and comfort in the golf course setting.

To sign up for the EWGA Fairway Friends Program, please contact me at [email protected] and I will get you started in the right direction. I need both mentors and mentees. I will hold 2 training sessions to go over the information you will need to know as a mentor and then I will pair players together. Don't worry, you do not have to fix any swings. That's my job.

Clinic covers proper set up and swing mechanics until they’re repeatable for both full swing and short game. Also learn rules, etiquette and terminology. With a focus on the basics, you’ll learn how to be consistent in your swing along with short game techniques including bunker play. April: 5, 12, 19, 26 May: 3, 10, 17, 24 June: 7, 14, 21, 28 July: 5, 12, 19, 26
