About the Teams: ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE (3-0-0)... The Blue Jays opened the season with three straight victories, including the championship of the Rowan Invitational last weekend. Elizabethtown defeated Medgar Evers (3-2) and New York City Tech (7-0) to take the title, as sophomore F Dan Featherer collected MVP honors after scoring four goals, including a hat trick against City Tech... FRANKLIN & MARSHALL COLLEGE (1-1-0)… The Diplomats split two games at their Scrapyard Classic last weekend, falling 1-0 to Roberts Wesleyan and defeating Scranton 1-0. Junior D Charlie Welch scored the only goal in the win over Scranton when he headed home a corner kick, and junior GK Zach Zamek earned the shutout by making two saves... UNIVERSITY OF LA VERNE (0-2-0)… The Leopards dropped a 6-0 decision to Pacific (Ore.) on Sunday to fall to 0-2 on the season. In their season opener, La Verne was edged 1-0 by Chapman on a goal in the 11th minute. Owen Wright served as head coach of the Leopards from 1983-97 after an illustrious career on the sidelines at Elizabethtown from 1961-82... GWYNEDD-MERCY COLLEGE (2-1-0)… The Griffins slipped past Rosemont 2-1 on Wednesday behind goals from junior M Tim Munsey and junior M Matt Meier. Gwynedd-Mercy opened its season with a 1-0 victory over Delaware Valley as sophomore D Tom Petroski scored in the 60th minute and sophomore GK Mike Leonard made 13 saves...
