from the Camp Director For more than 100 years, Brunswick School has turned out strong minds and solid athletes with an emphasis on the building of character. When summer arrives, our commitment to providing a positive developmental environment for young people continues with each of our athletic camps. Our accomplished coaching staff strives to teach each camper, novice or experienced, the skills and strategies needed to elevate their level of play and reach personal goals The coaching staff is the heart and soul of our programming, and they are trained to understand the needs of children and the importance of role modeling. The following pages are filled with descriptions and the most relevant information about each of our camps, including dates, ages, gender, and cost. SPORTS CAMP The Brunswick Sports Camp, now in its 71st year (previously Brunswick Baseball Camp) will continue to develop and improve athletic skills of children ages 6 – 14. This camp is designed for the travel athlete as well as the first timer; we will meet your campers’ needs. Our awesome curriculum gives campers core and recreational sports. With over 10 hours of athletic instruction and participation in games, your camper will have the greatest summer ever. Additionally, each camper will have a chance to win fun, daily competitions and opportunities to participate in recreational games including badminton, speedball, handball, flag football, and four-square and so much more. Your camper will also learn good sportsmanship at the same time he or she is learning the fundamentals. All-League First time players ages 6, 7, 8 (Broken up by talent not age) • These players are learning instruction individually and in small group settings. • These curious athletes will receive a total of 2 hours of instruction and 3 hours of games per day in primary sports • Building self confidence and self worth in your child is our #1 goal

• They will become comfortable with the primary sports, learn to ask questions, and have opportunities to speak with current varsity athletes, coaches and special guests. All-State Ages 8 (advanced), 9, 10, 11, • These athletes are looking to play in middle school or on a competitive town or travel team. With a mix of first time sport players, these young athletes have already developed the dream and solid skills to play competitive sports. • These athletes will receive 1.5 hours of instruction, play

Primary Sports: Baseball, Squash, Lacrosse, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, and Football Secondary Sports: Speedball, Water Games, Handball, Badminton, and Nuke-Em’ Levels: We offer seven sports per week in 3 different leagues instructional games for 1 hour, and play 2-3 hours of round robin tournament games in the primary sport of the day. • They will become more confident and skilled with the primary sports, learn steps of progression, and have opportunities to speak with current varsity athletes, coaches and special guests. All-American Ages 12, 13 and 14 • These athletes will learn how to approach, play, and train for high school sports and progress in the primary sports we offer. • Each athlete will select three sports of specialization per week and work with our trained staff in small groups to improve specific skills unique to those sports. • They receive advice on how to balance high school life as a student-athlete and the importance of respecting their bodies.

• They will also meet with our Strength and Conditioning Coach each week where they will learn the importance of nutrition, muscular development, speed and agility. • These athletes will take their game to the next level, understand what will be required of them as a high school athlete, and have opportunities to speak with current varsity athletes, coaches and special guests. SQUASH CAMP

This instructional squash camp teaches and/or improves June 10-14, 2013 Monday-Friday foundational skill and level of play. This 10:00 a.m.-12:45 p.m. program is offered to players of all talent levels. Campers are instructed Rising 4th-9th graders by Brunswick School’s Varsity Coach George Boynton. George has helped Co-Ed Stephens Squash Center, lead the squash program to national King Street Campus prominence and has been actively coaching squash since 1970. George Fee: $300 and his team of instructors (Brunswick varsity #1, #2, #3, and #4 players on Instructor George Boynton the National Runner-Up Team), will mentor and improve your child’s skills at camp. They will have engaging, nonstop squash planned daily in Brunswick’s state-of-the-art squash facilities located at the King Street Campus. advanced baseball camp

Register today for an in-depth and instructional baseball camp designed June 17-20, 2013 for baseball enthusiasts looking to Monday-Thursday take their game to the next level. The 3:30-5:30 p.m. camp is offered to rising 4th – 10th grade boys who want to become Rising 4th-10th graders successful high school baseball Boys Only players. Instruction is offered to Brunswick Baseball Field, campers by Brunswick School’s Varsity King Street Campus Baseball Coach, Johnny Montanez. Johnny and his team of instructors will Fee: $250 deliver quality instruction designed to Instructor refine campers’ skills while teaching Johnny Montanez the nuances of the game. Engaging and nonstop baseball is planned each afternoon at Brunswick’s extensive athletic facilities at the King Street Campus. Self-confidence during play will also be emphasized. Give-And-Go Basketball Camp Register today for an instructional June 10-14, 2013 (and super fun!) basketball camp Monday-Friday designed to teach and/or improve 9a.m.-12 p.m. foundational skills and love of the Rising 1st-8th graders game. This camp is for rising 1st – 8th graders with various skill Co-Ed levels. Campers will be instructed Dann Gymnasium, by Brunswick School’s Basketball Sampson Field House King Street Campus Coaches, Anthony Fischetti and Johnny Montanez. Register today for an instructional basketball camp designed to teach and/or improve foundational skill and competitive level of play. This camp is for rising 8th – 10th grade boys only with various skill levels. Campers will be instructed be Brunswick School’s Varsity Basketball Coach, Robert Taylor, an Ivy League college player and current Upper School faculty member. Robert and his team of instructors have engaging, nonstop basketball drills and games planned each day in Brunswick School’s basketball facilities, located at the King Street Campus in Dann Gym within the Sampson Field House.

SOCCER CAMP

This camp is geared to bring June 10-13. 2013 out the best in your soccer lover! Monday-Thursday With the help of our accomplished 3:30-5:30 p.m. coaching staff, led by Varsity coaches Rising 5th-8th graders Power Fraser and Tucker Hastings, we will teach your son the skills and Boys Only strategies needed to play soccer Caputo Field, competitively. Boys will re-visit the King Street Campus fundamentals of soccer and take Fee: $250 their play to the next level. The camp will also teach the novice player the Instructors correct skills needed to become more Power Fraser & confident. The camp will concentrate Tucker Hastings on both individual-skill work and group-skill work through drills and plenty of games. Each session is conducted on Brunswick School’s Caputo Field at the King Street Campus. WRESTLING CAMP WITH MR. O

This camp is designed to bring the energy out of your beloved bruiser! The goal of Wrestling June 10-13, 2013 Camp is to teach your son the skills Monday-Thursday and strategies needed to wrestle. 3:30-5:30 p.m. Integral parts of learning to wrestle Rising 1st-7th graders include emphasis on developing sportsmanship, teamwork, and Boys Only confidence in every participant. Burke Field House, Campers will learn conviction Ostrye Wrestling Room King Street Campus and self-control, while developing wrestling skills. Individual-skill work Fee: $250 will be emphasized, along with techniques including takedowns, Instructor: Tim Ostrye pinning, breakdowns, riding, and bottom moves. There will be ample opportunity for campers to participate in matches, games, and much more! Each session will be held at the Burke Field House on the King Street Campus. Campers will be instructed by Brunswick School’s Varsity Tennis coach, George Boynton, a long-time Brunswick coach and faculty member. George and his team of instructors have engaging, nonstop tennis planned on Brunswick’s seven tennis courts at the King Street campus.
