Game #15 Patriot League Quarterfinal Tuesday, April 25, 2017 7 p.m. - Nickerson Field - Boston, Mass. Boston University (11-3, 5-3 PL) vs. Lehigh (7-6, 4-4 PL) Watch: Patriot League Network - Marisa Ingemi (PxP), Justin Domingos (color) FOUR YEARS. ONE GOAL. • The No. 19 Boston University men’s lacrosse team will make history on Tuesday when the Terriers host and play in their first-ever Patriot League postseason game. • Third-seeded BU will welcome sixth-seeded Lehigh to Nickerson Field. Game time is set for 7 p.m. HOW DID WE GET HERE? • Both BU and Lehigh needed victories on Friday night to create this matchup, with the Terriers topping Holy Cross in overtime, 12-11, and Lehigh defeating Bucknell, 9-6. • The Terriers had a chance at the second seed and a bye to the semifinals, but Loyola Maryland defeated Army West Point on Friday. WHERE MIGHT WE GO? • If the Terriers win on Tuesday, they will face second-seeded Army West Point on Friday at Loyola, the host school for championship weekend. • If Lehigh wins, the Mountain Hawks will face the host Greyhounds. • Navy is hosting Holy Cross on Tuesday in the other quarterfinal contest.
LAST TIME AGAINST LEHIGH • BU suffered a 10-6 setback at Lehigh on April 1. • The Terriers led, 3-2, after the first quarter but Lehigh scored six of the next seven goals to take an 8-4 lead into the final quarter en route to the win. • Senior Cal Dearth scored twice for BU while sophomore Greg Farris, freshman John MacLean, junior Hayden Ruiz and junior Jack Wilson also found the back of the net. • Ruiz and MacLean also added an assist apiece to each finish with two points. • Junior Ryan Hilburn had a pair of helpers while sophomores James Burr and Brendan Homire each chipped in an assist. • Junior Joe Stucky went 13-of-19 at the faceoff X with nine ground balls. • Senior Christian Carson-Banister made 12 saves and had four ground balls while classmate Greg Wozniak forced two turnovers and collected four ground balls. HISTORY WITH LEHIGH • The Terriers have yet to defeat Lehigh in four tries, though two of the last three losses have only been by one goal. • One of those defeats was last year at Nickerson Field when Lehigh bested BU, 8-7, on a rainy day. • In the other meeting at Nickerson Field between the two schools, Lehigh earned a 10-7 win over the first-year Terriers in 2014.

2017 boston university LACROSSE www.GoTerriers.com CAM CAN DEFEND...AND SCORE! • Senior Cam Pincus scored his first collegiate goal as part of a terrific allaround effort on Friday night. • His goal came when he beat the Crusaders’ 10-man ride and scored into an open cage from his own end of the field. • Pincus also led BU with two caused turnovers on Friday while collecting three ground balls. • The Rochester, New York, native has totaled 78 ground balls and 39 caused turnovers during his career. BEALL HITS CAREER HIGH • Senior Jack Beall matched his career high with two points after his goal and assist helped BU earn a win on Friday. • The goal was his first of the season - he also assisted on James Burr’s opening goal of the game with a length-of-the-field pass that beat the 10-man ride. • Beall, a defensive midfielder, last had two points on April 17, 2015, against Holy Cross. • He has 16 ground balls and six caused turnovers this year in addition to four points (1g, 3a). SHOOT TO SCORE • BU is the top shooting team in the Patriot League, scoring on a league-best 33.3 percent of its shots. • That mark is 11th-best in the country. • BU converted on 42.8 percent of its shots during Friday’s victory over Holy Cross, marking the second straight game in which the Terriers shot over 40 percent. POLL POSITION • The Terriers moved up to 18th in the Inside Lacrosse Media poll and remained 19th in the USILA Coaches poll. • This is the seventh different week that the Terriers have been ranked this season. • More importantly, BU is 15th in RPI, one of the determining factors the NCAA selection committee looks at to assemble its 17-team tournament field. • There are eight at-large bids available, with the Terriers also able to qualify automatically with a Patriot League tournament title. THE FORCE IS WITH DEARTH • Senior Cal Dearth is in the midst of a career year for the Terriers. • A unanimous First Team All-Patriot League selection, Dearth has tallied a career-high 47 points thanks to a careerhigh 32 goals in addition to 15 assists. • Dearth has been red hot of late, scoring nine goals over the last two games. • He found the back of the net four times on Friday night, scoring the overtimewinner to clinch the third seed in the Patriot League tournament.
