Buddy and Kathy Lafleur GSL Hockey Scholarship Application Criteria GSL is offering Hockey Scholarship(s) for graduating seniors or first year students to be awarded in May to GSL players going on to College, Technical School, Community College, etc. Applicants must meet the following criteria: 1) Must have participated in the GSL in Squirt through Midget level for not less than four years including 1 year in their Bantam or Midget seasons, applicant does not have to be participating in any hockey program at the present time. 2) Must receive or shall receive a high school diploma from an accredited secondary school. 3) Have been accepted and plan to enroll in an institution of higher learning beyond high school. Requirements for applications: 1) Applicant must complete an official G.S.L. scholarship application package that includes the following:  An application form; see attached form: Parts I, II, and III  Copy of high school transcript.  Copy of acceptance letter into an institute of higher learning.  Two letters of recommendation stating why the applicant should receive the GSL Scholarship. One letter from current or past hockey coach; the other from an adult (including but not limited to coaches) associated with any sport. No recommendations will be accepted from relatives or from Officers or Board Members of the GSL.  A one or two page statement in 12-point font (only) on “What I learned from playing Hockey” convincing the committee why you the applicant should receive this scholarship.  A written statement from a member of the participants GSL Association verifying that the applicant has participated in the GSL for not less than four years including their Bantam and Midget seasons. The completed application package must be postmarked or delivered on or before April 1st.
