In the five session Bible Study, Max Lucado explores the many gifts that Christ provided to us at his crucifixion. These includes the gift of the cross, the thorns that pierced his brow, the nails that tore his flesh, the seamless robe that he removed for us, and the empty tomb where he forever defeated sin and death. Plan to join us each Wednesday night in the Fellowship Hall at 6:00 pm. Ash Wednesday Service Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 6:00 PM in Sanctuary with a meal to follow immediately after service in the Fellowship Hall. Prayer Time starting @ 5:00 PM every Sunday in the Prayer Room.
BACKPACK BUDDIES The Anna Circle is participating in a ministry called the Backpack Buddies ministry. We provide weekend meals for underprivileged school children at Heard Elementary School. Many other organizations and churches in Savannah have adopted other schools. We pack bags with non-perishable food items for Saturday and Sunday for the children to take home on Friday from school. We deliver the bags to the school counselor who packs the backpacks we have provided for the children. The children take the backpacks home and return them the next Monday to be refilled that week. The school identifies the children who meet the need requirements. We are currently serving eight children. This number fluctuates as children come and go from the school. Many of these children are transient and even homeless for a time, living in a motel. We are able to purchase much of the food from the Second Harvest Food Bank at a significantly lower cost than at a retail market. We welcome support from our church family to help us make this ministry a success. We ask that you pray for us as we serve these children. We will appreciate any monetary donations you may wish to contribute as well.
