Devon Ave. just east of Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, IL Directions: Enter Bunker Hill Forest Preserve off of Caldwell Ave., south of the Touhy Ave. and north of Devon Ave. Once in the Bunker Hill forest preserve, take the drive to the first parking lot on your left. Continue to the southern end of parking lot. Walk the path down to river (there will be a bridge in front of you). Alternate access is at Caldwell Woods on the north side of Devon Ave. just east of Milwaukee Ave. If you access via Caldwell Woods just park and walk the bike trail to the north side of the preserve (until you get to the bridge). Owner: Forest Preserves of Cook County (permit required) Habitat Description: Oak Savanna and woodlands. Access to water: Good access to the east of the bridge on the north side of the river.
