Ann Arrundell County Historical Society 2014 BUS TRIP The War of 1812 in Maryland Saturday, May 17, 2014 Bus leaves Benson-Hammond House at 8am (7 Aviation Blvd, Linthicum, MD) Come along with the Ann Arrundell County Historical Society as we explore sites of the War of 1812 in Maryland. Our guide will be Ralph Eshelman, renowned author of a number of books on the war including In Full Glory Reflected: Discovering the War of 1812 in the Chesapeake, Maryland’s Largest Naval Engagement: The Battle of St. Leonard’s Creek and Chesapeake Legends and Lore from the War of 1812. We’ll visit sites along the route the British troops followed from Bladensburg to Washington, D.C. and visit the historic Riversdale manor house and gardens, home to “Rosalie of Riversdale.” To make the most of our day on the road, we’re offering box lunches at a separate cost or you can choose to bring your own. We’ll provide the drinks (sorry – non-alcoholic!)
