From the Pastor…

Church Council Chairperson: Vice Chair Secretary: Youth Rep:

90 Days of Testing God Usually when we hear the word “stewardship” our thoughts go to budgets, pledges and possibly even to some guilt over what we have given or have not given. This year we are going to explore stewardship differently - from the perspective of what it can do for our relationship with God. There is one place in the bible where God dares us to put him to the test: Malachi 3:10 “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse. That there may be food in my house. “Test me in this matter,” says the Lord who rules over all, “and see if I will not throw open

the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have enough room for it.”

God is literally daring us to put him to the test; promising that what he will do in return will not only be “just ok,” but will be beyond our expectations. Now, tithing is a very controversial subject. Many scholars don’t even agree on how the biblical tithe would be calculated today. So, when we discuss giving and sharing this year we are not going to focus so much on the tithe. Instead, we are looking to deepen our trust by doing something more with our time, talent and/or treasure to see what blessings God pours out.
