Calculating GPA

Grade Point Averaging Mullin High School is on a weighted 5.0 grading system. Most college/scholarship information is based upon a 4.0 system. The following is to help you determine what your G.P.A. would be on a 4.0 system. College Un-weighted 4.0 G.P.A. 1. When figuring a 4.0 G.P.A. give yourself 4 points for an “A”, 3 for a “B” and 2 for a “C”. At MHS 90-100 is an “A”, 80-89 is a “B” and 70-79 is a “C”. 2. Add up your points and divide by the number of semester classes you have taken (including failed courses). This will result in an un-weighted G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale. High School Weighted 5.0 G.PA. 1. Give yourself points by following the chart attached. Advance scale is for an AP class or Dual Credit course (if passed). 2. Add up your points and divide by the number of semester classes you have taken (including failed courses). This will result in a weighted G.P.A. on a 5.0 scale.

The District shall convert semester grades to grade points in accordance with the following chart and shall calculate a weighted GPA: Grade 100 99 98 97 96 95 94 93 92 91 90 89 88 87 86 85 84 83 82 81 80
