Dear Parent/Carer
Call for Parent Governors! The terms of office of the current parent Governors at S. Peter’s Collegiate School expire on 27 th November. Nominations of three parents who are interested in serving on the school’s Board of Governors are therefore invited. We very much hope parents will consider this important opportunity to contribute to the running of your child’s school. What is the Board of Governors? “Governing boards are the strategic decision makers and vision setters in every school and academy. They play a vital role in ensuring the best possible education for every child by creating robust accountability for school leaders. Crucially, that means using and being familiar with objective data on the performance of pupils, teachers and finances to ask the right questions and ensure resources are allocated to school priorities. It also means ensuring that schools prepare pupils for life and the workplace by building their character and resilience1…..” The S. Peter’s Collegiate School Board of Governors is made up of 17 Governors: 10 nominated by St. Peter’s Collegiate Church and Lichfield Diocese, three staff Governors, three parent Governors and the Principal.
