PredatorsScoreMore Reed Maltbie – Reed is the Executive Director of STAR SoccerClub and Staff Coach for the NPSL Cincinnati Saints. A former NCAA Division I player and part of National Semi-Finalist Davidson College, Reed was a prolific goal-scorer during his career. He loves passing on this sacred skill to the next generation of predators. A well regarded expert on youth coaching principles, Reed writes for Youthletic.com and will be speaking on the Main Stage at TEDxCincinnati this summer sharing his beliefs on coach communication and player empowerment with the greater Cincy community. These specialty camps were developed using lessons learned as a prolific goal scorer, training partner of US National team Captains and Herman Award Winners, and coach of thousands of youth and adult athletes over the last 25 years. Reed applies sport performance and sport psychology principles to his techniques to create goal scorers steeped in both the art and science of the game. The results are predators who have the tools to create goals, the intelligence to outwit the opponent, and the mindset to always be on the hunt to score more. Camps focus on technique, tactical decision-making, and trickery to help players become efficient goal scorers. CampDescriptions Basic Finishing Skills - This camp covers all the skills needed to score more goals in soccer. It includes short range and long range finishing. Proper striking technique will be developed and players will learn receiving balls, turns, attacking moves, and breakaways. Advanced Goal Scoring - This camp will begin to hone the perfect predators for scoring the big game goals. Players will continue to hone technique, but learn minor tweaks that create different movements and angles on their shots. Skills taught will include bending balls, chips, scuffed shots, unexpected finishes, two touch shots, volleys and much more. Ultimate Predator Scoring Tactics - This camp will help your player become the ultimate goal scorer. The focus will be on using the skills learned as a finisher and applying tactical knowledge to be more lethal. Game context, decision-making, and trickery will be added in this camp. Topics will include 2 on 1 attacks, movement off the ball, special turns, small-sided tactical development, and more.
