http://hpgreenteam.wordpress.com/2010/09/ Recycling Containers In June 2010 blue recycling containers for cans and bottles were placed around Harrington Park. Many thanks to Jodi Bogen from the HP Green team who researched and coordinated their purchase! The Community Parks Project purchased 12 bins that are in use in Highland Field and Pondside Park. The HSA purchased 5 bins that are in place around Harrington Park School. The containers are emptied weekly by the DPW (parks) and the school custodial staff (school) and the bottles and cans are recycled. This has resulted in a marked decrease in plastic bottles thrown into the park and school outdoor garbage cans.
http://hpgreenteam.wordpress.com/2011/07/19/good-news-harrington-parkjust-got-greener/ On June 21st, 2011 the Harrington Park Town Council passed a resolution to purchase additional bottle/can recycling bins. The blue metal bins will be placed next to the garbage containers in the downtown area, as well as outside of the police station, borough hall, and library. The addition of the recycling bins will further reduce the number of bottles and cans going into the waste stream.
http://hpgreenteam.wordpress.com/2011/09/ Our new blue recycling bins are here! On June 21st the Town Council passed a resolution to purchase ten additional bottle/can recycling bins. Two of the blue metal bins have been placed downtown. One bin has been placed in front of the following four locations: the convenience store, the police dept bus stop, the Borough Hall entrance, and the library. Two new bins are at Highland Field by the softball fields and two are at Pondside Park by the baseball fields. Each bin has been placed next to a garbage can to make it easy to choose to recycle! Thank you DPW for placing these containers and for your ongoing work to empty them and recycle the contents! The remaining two new recycling bins will be used as needed for town events…look for them at Town Day this Saturday, September 10th at Highland Field. Information submitted by Green Team and EC member Cindy Kennedy. (Thank you for your work to obtain these containers Cindy!)
