Cape May City Elementary School As part of our Healthy Kids Challenge Program and in accordance with our School Wellness Policy, Cape May City Elementary will not include foods of minimal nutritional value in classroom celebrations. Basically these are foods that list sugar as the first ingredient, (like soda) and foods that are especially high in saturated fats, (like some desserts and candies). Here are some suggestions for Healthy Alternatives for School Parties. The School Cafeteria can supply these items for your child’s party. • • • • • • • •

Homemade Apple, Banana or Carrot Cake Muffins ~we include a dollop of frosting and a bit of sprinkels  Fresh Fruit. (Check with us to see what’s available!) If you prefer to purchase from another source we must ask that items that are shared with the class be presented in a sealed package from a grocery store with the contents-nutrition label attached.
