29th March 2018 Dear Parent / Carer, I am writing to inform you that all year 9 students will be sitting tests starting 30th April. All exams will be held in the hall. The purpose of the exams is to measure the progress that the pupils have made this year as well as give students the experience of sitting exams, which will help prepare them for in a few years’ time when they will be sitting their GCSE exams. Subject areas are communicating the content of the individual tests with the pupils so that they can revise at home. Pupils will attend an assembly which will outline further information and expectations during the examination period. It is vital that all students have the appropriate equipment and we would appreciate your support in encouraging your child to prepare for the tests. Please reassure your child that the exams are nothing to worry about as well as encouraging them to try their best. Thank you in advance. Yours sincerely
