Carry On Sampler
Description: This is an opportunity to learn some traditional Quilt blocks set in a modern Quilt.
Depending on fabric choices, the Quilt can be very modern or just contemporary. This is a four week
class. During each class you will earn to piece several blocks, then you will go home and make each of the blocks again. You will learn ten blocks and will make twenty blocks to complete the Quilt. Date: 11/11, 18 12/2,9 Time: 1 - 5
Pattern or Book: Sister Sampler Quilts, Chapter 1 - Sisters’ Ten Sampler using the following blocks Grandmother’s Frame Susannah
School Girl’s Puzzle Lady of the Lake
Aunt Eliza’s Star Contrary Wife Hattie’s Trick
Old Maid’s Puzzle Sister’s Choice
Aunt Lee’s Frame Materials Needed: A fat quarter bundle is perfect for this project, since it gives variety and yet coordinates to give a cohesive color palette.
Prewash yes or no? Not necessary, but you may. If you do prewash, press using Best Press to make fabrics easier to cut.
Homework PRIOR TO CLASS: Purchase fabric. If prewashing it, bring it ironed and use Best Press to make cutting easier.

Supplies Needed for Day of Class:
. Sewing machine in working order . Rotary cutter with sharp blade
. Bloc_Loc ruler set (2 1/2, 4 1/2, 6 1/2) will be very helpful, since accuracy in cutting is very important.
. 9 1/2” square up ruler . Frixion pen
. Quarter inch marking rulers
. Normal sewing supplies (scissors, pins, seam ripper) * Doors open 15 minutes prior to class * Do you need to rent a machine? Please call shop and let us know at least 24 hours prior.
* All classes all supported by fabric purchases at Gigi’s. A 10% discount will be provided for all class materials. Please do not bring in fabrics purchased outside of Gigi’s . This is how we keep our doors open. We appreciate your support.
