Tutorial 2 Modifying Custom Databases – Steel Beam example (CDN only) The following steps describe how to add a steel beam to the custom database. As the Steel Database already exists, the following will explain how to add a new section of steel.

Opening Material Window
You must first open the Custom database file that you want to modify. This is done by using the open button or by clicking on the file name in the file list. Quickly click on Species, then Grade, then Sections. Once sections is highlighted click the add icon.

Input Section Properties
Now enter the necessary parameters in the New Sections dialog window.

Save File
Click on the save button to save the new section to the database.
