É junto aos armazéns de luxo Saks Fifth Avenue, na famosa Yonge Street em Toronto, que a cadeia Oliver & Bonacini volta a surpreender. Se por um lado a presença do chefe executivo Anthony Walsh já não é novidade, desta vez é a homenagem prestada à sua sogra argentina Elena, de onde herdou o gosto pela comida tradicional sul-americana, que nos transporta para uma dimensão tão íntima quanto requintada.
It’s next to the Saks Fifth Avenue store on Toronto’s famous Yonge Street that the Oliver & Bonacini chain has surprised us once again. Although the presence of the executive chief Anthony Walsh may not be a novelty, this time it’s the tribute paid to his Argentinean mother-in-law Elena, from whom he has learned a taste for traditional South American cuisine, which now transports us to a dimension that is both intimate and refined.
O registo histórico e sofisticado do espaço é da responsabilidade da Design Agency, que procurou criar ambientes personalizados nas três salas privadas disponíveis. Em cada uma delas, o contraste entre peças de mobiliário modernas e antigas realça o carácter familiar de Leña e convida-nos a disfrutar de uma experiência acolhedora, mas não menos extravagante. Segundo Matt Davis, um dos responsáveis pelo projecto, há, ao longo dos quatro pisos, “uma variedade de cenários que se ajusta às diferentes ocasiões através de detalhes ricos e elegantes”.
The historical and sophisticated register of the space was overseen by the Design Agency and seeks to create personalised ambiences in the three available private dining rooms. In each of these, the contrast between modern and antique furniture highlights the family feel of Leña and invites us to make the most of a welcoming, yet extravagant experience. According to Matt Davis, one of the people responsible for the project, over the four floors we can appreciate “a variety of settings which adapt themselves to different occasions through their rich and elegant details.”
Revestido a mármore, latão e madeira de oliveira, o Bar Lala é, no entanto, o ex-líbris do espaço. A decoração ecléctica, inspirada nas livrarias antigas e em cabines de comboio, é completada por uma colecção de quadros de artistas canadianos da curadoria da Ingram Gallery que nos remete para uma atmosfera naturalmente familiar.
Clad in marble, bronze and olive wood, Bar Lala is also the ex-libris of the space. The eclectic decoration, inspired by old bookshops and train compartments, is completed with a collection of paintings by Canadian artists seelcted by the Ingram Gallery which creates a natural family atmosphere.
Surpreenda-se com os pequenos-almoços tipicamente argentinos, à base de crepes, empanadas e tortilhas, ou opte por um jantar requintado acompanhado de deliciosos vinhos espanhóis durante uma ocasião mais especial.
Allow yourself to be surprised with the typical Argentinean breakfast, based on crepes, pasties and tortillas or, for a special occasion, go for a refined dinner accompanied by delicious Spanish wines.
