Dear Coaches: You are cordially invited to participate in the “Centerville Hustle Girls Basketball Lady Elks Classic” to be held Friday November 17 – Sunday November 19, 2017. This event will feature premiere Girls select teams (grades 3-6) found throughout the Miami Valley. Our goal is to provide you and your team an opportunity to face quality competition before your select season is fully underway. Each game will be refereed by certified officials and all games will be played at Centerville City Schools. The entry fee per team is $225.00 and is due by Wednesday, November 8, 2017 to ensure your team's participation (a Multi-Team Discount of $25 will be given per team for clubs with multiple teams participating). Please complete the tourney registration form and return it with your check or money order made payable to Centerville Hustle Basketball Club. Registration is on a first come, first paid basis. Tournament format will be pool play plus a single elimination championship bracket for the top two teams from each pool. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games. See the attached “Tournament Rules” for more information. All participants will receive a free tournament tee shirt! Tournament Rules 1. 2. 3. 4.
All games will be officiated by certified officials. Clock duties will be performed by the Centerville Hustle basketball club. Home team must provide basketball and official score book duties. Three games guaranteed. Pool-play format with advancement to Championship Bracket. 1st and 2nd place awards will be given to the top two teams for each age group. 5. Six minute quarters with four minute half time. Two 30 second time-outs per half. Three minute overtimes with one 30 second time-out in overtime. No carry-over from first to second half or from regulation to overtime or prior overtime periods. 6. Man-to-Man defense. Help defense/double-teaming permitted but players must recover. Constant double teaming is not allowed. NO ZONE DEFENSE in the half court. 7. Full court zone press is permitted but teams must fall back into man to man defense. No half court zone presses. 8. Full court press is only permitted in the last two minutes of the game (and overtime) for 3rd grade. Full court press is only permitted in the fourth quarter (and overtime) for 4th grade. Full court press is only permitted in the second half (and overtime) for 5th grade. No restriction on full court press for 6th grade. No press with a lead of fifteen points or more. 9. The following tiebreaker rules will determine pool winners: a. Head to Head Competition. b. Total margin of victory (15 points maximum per game). c. Least points allowed. d. Total points scored. e. Coin flip. 10. Second technical on a coach and the coach must leave the building. 11. Three (3) point shots will be allowed for all grade levels. 12. Basket height and Free Throw distance: a. 3rd & 4th Grade – nine foot baskets and the free throw will be moved forward 18 inches. b. 5th & 6th Grade – ten foot baskets and fifteen foot free throws. 13. All other rules covered in the OHSAA. HEAD COACHES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN CONDUCT, CONDUCT OF PLAYERS, ASSISTANT COACHES AND TEAM PARENTS/FANS. REMINDER, THERE IS NO SMOKING ON ANY SCHOOL PROPERTY.
