This workshop is a comprehensive introduction and a critical update for new and experienced school personnel on the essentials of educator certification in Texas. Presenters Melva Cardenas, TASPA Executive Director and Annabel Pena, TASPA Program Director, both experienced human resources administrators, will begin with the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) and review the categories and classes of certificates, permits and assignment criteria for general, specialized and CTE teachers. TAC rule changes/updates related to bills passed in the 83rd Texas Legislature will be addressed. Their impact for 2014-2015 will be highlighted and discussed. This interactive session will conclude with a discussion period for sharing questions, concerns and solutions with each other. Fee: $25.00 $300.00
