Titan Hood Switch Adjustment Many of the intermittent errors related to Clamp Down Failure on the Titan Series machine can be contributed to the miss adjusted of the Tilt Shield Interlock Switches. Below is a procedure to assure the two Interlock switches are engaging properly. 1.) Remove the left and right Interlock Switch Assemblies from the machine. 2.) Being very careful, bend the Switch Strap (P/N 43075) from the original straight shape to the shape in the picture below. The bend CAN NOT be a sharp bend or it will break. The bend must be a gentle curve so the bottom half of the strap is parallel to the front surface of the front of the switch and approximately ¼ inch (6 mm) from the plunger of the switch. Positioned like this, will reduce the spring force trying to push the cover open.
3.) Reinstall the switch bracket assemblies into the machine and adjust like the picture in the lower left show, so there is a .012 inch (.3 mm) air gap between the switch plunger and the strap. 4.) Close the machines upper cover and install the two screws. 5.) Close the Tilt Shield and shine a light between the air gap between the cover and the side frame of the machine. If the switch is not depressed so only 1/16 inch (1.5 mm) of the plunger is still exposed, adjust Actuator Bracket on the Tilt Shield and / or the rubber bumper on the frame of the machine that stops the Tilt Shield as shown in the picture on the right below.
