Application Background: A brewery was granted a capital project to retrofit the lighting in six areas of the plant. The issues that they were trying to solve with the lighting upgrade were: • Energy reduction • Luminaire usage reduction (less time the lights are on) • Improvement of the quality of light in the facility • Labor/maintenance savings Challenge: The facility was looking at three different lighting sources— induction, fluorescent and LED—to accomplish the goals above. This plant was the third brewery, to date, to receive a lighting retrofit capital project, and the other two plants had chosen fluorescent fixtures. Results: By installing Champ® Pro PVM LED Luminaires, the facility: • Realized 60-70% reduction in energy usage - the facility was able to replace existing 175W metal halide fixtures with PVM5L luminaires. • HVAC savings - areas within the facility require temperatures to be maintained between 36-45°. The metal halides previously installed operated at ~160°, requiring HVAC to run constantly. The PVM fixtures installed operate at only 80°. • Reduction in luminaire hours of operation - the Pro Series’ instant-on feature allowed the facility to turn lights on and off, as opposed to leaving them on all the time. • Significant reduction in labor and maintenance costs due to Pro Series’ long life and vibration-resistant design. 2

These luminaires are installed in the same manner and use the same mounting modules as existing Champ Series luminaires. The compact modular design of the PVM allows for easy component replacement and future upgrades.

Safe, reliable heat transfer - Die cast aluminum housing provides safe and effective heat transfer from the LED assembly to the outside environment, ensuring low LED junction temperature, reliability and sustained lumen performance. The vertical fin design facilitates air flow and dust shedding. The impact-resistant lens is sealed from the outside environment and provides ingress protection against water and dust. Type 4X rated - The LED housing is constructed of durable die cast aluminum, providing an efficient thermal path to the heat sink assembly.
