YR10 Ambassador -‐ role description Function of Post: The role of the Ambassador is to represent the school and act as an ambassador and role model through commitment, conduct, attendance and attitude on a daily basis and at school events. Ambassadors are to support the Senior Ambassadors in their duties. Ambassadors are expected to: ● Always act as a role model for students and promote the ethos of our catholic school ● Meet high standards of politeness, courtesy, dress, attendance and punctuality ● Liaise with your Senior Ambassador team & Head of House for directions on responsibilities ● Support Senior Ambassadors in House Assemblies ● Meet regularly with the Senior Ambassador team to share and discuss ideas and any issues arising ● Be proactive in all school and House fundraising events ● Assist the Senior Ambassadors and Pastoral team with the Year 6 Transition day ● Work with the Senior Ambassadors to initiate ideas for fundraising and tutor activities ● Arrange, help develop and support tutor activities ● Organise and support inter house events ie sport ● Liaise with tutors and tutees to develop ideas for events ● To liaise with the RE Head of department and support in liturgical and spiritual activities such as days of reflection; relevant sacraments such as Masses and Reconciliation; year 7 retreat days and Deanery days. ● Liaise with Heads Art and Drama departments in promoting and supporting their events and activities ● Assist Senior Ambassadors on school events including Open Evenings, Parent consultations ● To encourage and support those in all years to be involved in school events ● Support with monthly lunchtime drop ‘in sessions’ in the LRC to discuss any new ideas or suggestions from year 7-‐11 students. ● Be led by the ethos of CARPE (Commitment, Aspiration, Resilience,Prayer,Excellence) ● Demonstrate the commitment to the role throughout the period of office -‐ June ‘17-‐June ‘18 Person specification: Senior Ambassadors are the schools role models. You should be a student with an excellent record of behaviour,attendance, punctuality and uniform. However, if you are a student who has had problems previously but feel you have successfully worked through these and made the effort to improve, then that will be taken into consideration. ● A desire to make a lasting impact at school and be involved in decision making ● Like working with younger students ● Be able to work and listen to others ● Strong communication skills ● Willing to actively support in fundraising and charity events ● Able to use initiative ● Be approachable and able to approach students in a manner appropriate to their age ● Hold a strong track record of good attendance and behaviour ● Show commitment to school events ● Feel comfortable communicating to staff, pupils and members of the public ● Good listener, clear thinker, reflector and capable organiser
YR11 Senior Ambassador -‐ role description Function of Post: The role of the of the Senior Ambassador is to represent the school and act as an ambassador and role model through commitment, conduct, attendance, uniform and attitude on a daily basis and at school events. Senior Ambassadors are expected to: ● Always act as a role model for students and promote the ethos of our catholic school ● Meet high standards of politeness, courtesy, dress, attendance and punctuality ● Liaise with your Head of House for directions on responsibilities, pass on instructions and ensure that they are carried out ● Liaise with the Head students to pass on any information to the Ambassadors ● Meeting with SLT/Head to discuss events and any student feedback ● Support in House assemblies ● With other Senior Ambassadors and the Head students lead on a House assembly to incorporate CARPE ● Support yr 10 Ambassadors, to encourage ‘faith in action’ and raise awareness of justice and peace issues ie Cafod, Mission Together ● Meet regularly as an Ambassadorial team and share and discuss ideas and any issues arising ● Assist and attend school events to include Open evenings, Parent consultations, Parent school tours, House events, Transition day and Transition events ● Work together to initiate ideas for fundraising and tutor activities ● Support the Pastoral manager on visits to local primaries to talk to year 6 students ● Be a mentor to an allocated group of year 7 students to support them over their first year at Chatsmore in all aspects of school life. ● Liaise with Head of House/Pastoral managers to update them on year 7 students and any issues they may have ● Support staff with break and lunchtime supervision on a rotation basis ● Hold monthly lunchtime drop ‘in sessions’ in the LRC to discuss any new ideas or suggestions from year 7-‐11 students. ● Be led by the ethos of CARPE (Commitment, Aspiration, Resilience,Prayer,Excellence) ● Demonstrate the commitment to the role throughout the period of office -‐ June ‘17-‐June’ 18 Person specification: Senior Ambassadors are the schools role models. YR11 Principal Ambassador -‐ role description Function of Post: The role of the of the Principal Ambassador is to represent the school and act as an ambassador and role model through commitment, conduct, attendance, uniform and attitude on a daily basis and at school events. Head Students are expected to: ● Take the lead in ensuring that that the ambassador team is effective and decisions agreed upon are carried out ● Head students will liaise with members of Senior Leadership Team and other members of staff on a regular basis to support the continued improvement of the school ● Attend main school events which will include some public speaking ● Responsible for leading the senior ambassadors and assigning duties ● Always act as a role model for students and promote the ethos of our catholic school ● Meet high standards of politeness, courtesy, dress, attendance and punctuality ● Liaise with your Head of House for directions on responsibilities, pass on instructions and ensure that they are carried out ● Ensure that Senior Ambassadors and Ambassadors are supported and making sure that they fulfil their responsibilities and meet the expectations of their roles. ● With other Senior Ambassadors lead on a House assembly to incorporate CARPE ● Co-‐ordinate and attend school events to include Open evenings, Parent consultations, Parent school tours, House events, Transition day and Transition events ● Work together with Ambassadors to initiate ideas for fundraising and tutor activities ● Support and co-‐ordinate the Pastoral manager on visits to local primaries to talk to year 6 students ● Liaise with Head of Houses in supporting year 7 students ● Be a mentor to an allocated group of year 7 students to support them over their first year at Chatsmore in all aspects of school life. ● Support staff with break and lunchtime supervision on a rotation basis ● Hold monthly lunchtime drop ‘in sessions’ in the LRC to discuss any new ideas or suggestions from year 7-‐11 students. ● Organise Ambassador social evenings ● Be led by the ethos of CARPE (Commitment, Aspiration, Resilience,Prayer,Excellence) ● Demonstrate the commitment to the role throughout the period of office -‐ June ‘17-‐June ‘18 Person specification: Principal Ambassadors are the school’s role models.
