Cheer Parents, Our official season begins Monday July 29th. Practice will be at Twin Oaks Park, near the lower parking lot. Please have your daughter meet her coach and teammates by the “out-building” between the baseball fields.
Things your daughter will need: 1. MEDICAL RELEASE/ BIRTH CERTIFICATE- If you have not turned in your Medical Release and Birth Certificate, this is due by 5:45 on the first day of practice. If we don’t have a medical release your daughter will not be able to participate until it has been turned in. 2. Towel- (Optional) for warm ups to sit on. Make sure you write her name on it with a sharpie. 3. Water – A large bottle of water. Please have your daughter drink additional water the day prior to practice and several times throughout the days of practice, this will really help keep her hydrated. 4. Apply Sunscreen – the girls will be rotating stations. The warm up area and some stations will be in full sun. Practice attire and appearance: Tank tops or T-Shirts- No thin style cami tops or spaghetti straps. Shorts- Soffe or gym type shorts. No pockets. Shoes- Athletic shoes (Lace up), no slip-ons. Hair – Must be in a High ponytail. No bobby pins, only alligator clips are allowed. No un-natural hair colors, extensions or feathers. Nails- must be short and clean of polish, trimmed so that you cannot see the nails from back of hand. No acrylic, artificial or glue on nails. Jewelry –No jewelry is allowed. No stud earrings, no tape. No exceptions. 1st WEEK OF PRACTICE- We are required by SAC to complete 5 hours of conditioning prior to any stunting. On Monday & Tuesday all girls will warm up together, and then separate into their own squads. They will rotate between conditioning stations. The Head coach will stay with their squads as they rotate. On Wednesday they will finish up conditioning and begin their individual team practice.
PARK PRACTICE (July – Mid-September) Practice is from 6pm - 8pm for all squads except Mascots which are from 6pm – 7:30pm. We ask that you have your girls arrive by at least 5:50 each night. Practice starts at 6pm SHARP! If you are not planning on staying at the park during practice we ask that you arrive promptly at 8pm to pick up your daughter. The Coaches stay until every child is picked up, so please be kind to your coaches by not making them wait. INDOOR PRACTICE- Practice tentatively moves indoors to local school gyms beginning the week of September 16th. These practices are closed to parents (Except Mascots) Please note: With limited availability of facilities, squads will be given a new schedule that may include Mondays. Practice times may vary as well. We try to keep the schedules as consistent as possible. CELL PHONES- Your daughters will not be allowed to use their cell phones during practice. You can contact your coach’s by cell phone in case of an emergency. The coaches will also have your emergency contact numbers in case they need to get a hold of you. ATTENDANCE POLICY- All mandatory dates have been posted and accepted by all parents in order to participate in the cheer program. These dates include practices, games, clinics, etc. All girls need to be present and on time in order for their team to practice. The first few weeks are vital as the girls learn a lot at a very fast pace. One missing girl makes teaching a routine near impossible with holes where girls should be, lines with gaps and off timing. One girl missing means that 3 or 4 other girls are not able to practice at all while the rest of the squad is learning stunts. Please review the attendance policy.
GAME DAY & SEASON SCHEDULE During the season you’re Team Parent or Coaches will send out a weekly schedule with exact time and place for each squad to meet for games, practices and competitions. We have also created an Important Dates Schedule that is located on our website. It has general listings of all the seasons’ games, practices and events. Below you will find the game day schedule and game start times. Please note that all squads warm up an hour prior to game time.

JAMBOREE & CERTIFICATIONS - At the Jamboree on August 17th each cheerleader must be
present for Certification. Certification is the Sierra Athletic Conferences process of verifying the identity and eligibility of each cheerleader. During the certification process each squad will provide documentation showing proof of eligibility to participate: picture, certified copy of birth certificate, medical release, player/parent contract, etc. This process certifies that each cheerleader is eligible to participate in the program and agree to the guidelines and policies established by the Rocklin Jr. Thunder and Sierra Athletic Conference. JAMBOREE/SPIRIT WEAR- Your daughter will receive a “Thunder” tank top, shorts and bow. These are to be worn at the Thursday parent showcase practices and for the Jamboree on August 17th. Your coaches may request the girls wear these for other events during the season SHOES- When the shoes are distributed have your daughter try them one as soon as possible. If they don’t fit properly, please bring/send her shoes back to practice on the day we schedule the “Shoe Exchange”. We will have a table set up for you to turn in and order a new size shoe. Shoes must be kept in original package as new. They will not be accepted for the exchange if they have been worn or the bottoms have dirt. UNIFORMS – When Uniforms are distributed please have your daughter try it on as soon as possible. Please contact your coach if you have questions regarding the fit of your daughter’s uniform QUESTIONS – We keep the RJT Cheer section of the website up to date with the most current information. If you have any clarifying questions, please feel free to contact your coach or team mom. We are all looking forward to another great and successful season!
