CHEER TEAM & MASCOT PROGRAM OVERVIEW The NDSU Cheer Team is a coed squad that cheers for home and away football games, home men’s and women’s basketball games, and postseason away men’s and women’s basketball games. The Cheer Team and Mascot Program at North Dakota State University are part of Bison Athletics. The program is budgeted in Athletics and performs primarily at Athletic Department events. Members of the NDSU Cheer Team or Mascot Program are representatives of the athletic teams we support, the NDSU Athletic Department, North Dakota State University, and the state of North Dakota. As highly visible ambassadors, our team members are expected to conduct themselves accordingly, on and off the playing field/court/mat. The purpose of Cheer Team and Mascot tryouts is to select skilled and talented athletes as well as wellrounded students who embrace being coached, being part of NDSU Athletics, and supporting our athletic teams to create the best home field/court advantage we can.
