Chris Judd I was born in Salt Lake City and grew up in Fruit Heights, UT. I graduated from Davis High School and quickly went to Snow College (Ephraim, UT) for one year before serving a two year LDS Mission in Monterrey Mexico. Upon completion of my mission I returned to Snow College met my wonderful wife (Ashlee Judd) and finished my Associate Degree. We then moved up to the University of Utah where I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. During my time at the University of Utah I worked part-time for the LDS Church and later full-time at Zions Bank. I have worked for Zions Bank in both the National Real Estate Group (Salt Lake City) and local Real Estate Banking Group (Provo). Three years ago I took an offer from Central Bank (local community bank) to help manage their Downtown Provo location. My family and I have lived in Vineyard since March 2013 when we moved into the Sleepy Ridge community and it has been better than we ever expected. Ashlee and I have three children: Kelli (8), Carson (5), and Taylor (1). We love the small town feel and we are excited to raise our children here like many of you. One year ago, the town was looking for interested residents to participate as alternates for the Planning Commission. Based on my lending background in real estate/development and having the desire to help with the growth our small town would see I applied and accepted one of those positions. In addition to my regular duties on the commission I’ve also been a member of the Technical Advisory Committee with the purpose of setting the design standards for the Transit Center and Lake Oriented Mixed Use Zones just north of the Vineyard Connector and west of the planned Frontrunner station. I feel my experience as a community banking partner and reviewing financials/cash flows/budgets with local businesses will help in the review of the town and RDA budgets. My economic development experience with local developers and cities throughout Utah and Salt Lake Counties will help us ask the right questions and come to the right conclusions as we experience growth. Vineyard is at a very important crossroads and we as residents have a crucial role to play as we move forward. I’ve witnessed the fast economic growth firsthand in cities where I have lived (Farmington/Kaysville and Draper) and I’ve learned the importance of being proactive instead or reactive. We need to make our voices heard as the decisions we make today will define Vineyard in 20 years. No matter who you cast your vote for, stay active in the community and let us all help mold Vineyard into what we want it to be.
