CHRIS WOEHLER MARINE CORPS INSTALLATIONS COMMAND DEPUTY ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF, G-6

Mr. Woehler assumed to role of Deputy, Assistant Chief of Staff (AC/S) G-6 in 2013 when the decision was made to convert the AC/S G-6 billet from civilian to military. From 2011 to the conversion in 2013, as the civilian AC/S G-6, he established the initial G-6 mission, functions, structure, strategic goals and objectives for the G-6 in support of HQMC I&L LF & MCICOM assigned authorities and responsibilities. In both roles he advocates, champions, and continues to mature ADC LF / COMMCICOM in its governance over Installation Communications and conduct coordination within supported Tenant Higher Headquarters, MARFORS, HQMC, DON, DOD, DHS, and other forums whose plans and policies have an effect on Base and Station Commander’s operations as a Force Projection Platform and the myriad of their unique mission partner environments. From 2006 to Oct 2011, he was at Headquarters Marine Corps, Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4), Networks Plans Division as the Marine Corps Base/Station Telecommunications and Radio technical policy analyst. In this position he represented the Marine Corps on all matters related to Marine Corps Base/Station’s Telecommunications and Radio technical equities within Federal, Host Nation, State, and Local communities impacting Base/Station Telecom and Radio infrastructure, spectrum, circuits, IT systems, and personnel. During this period of time he championed and advocated installation communications regulation and policy concerns and technical issues associated to Public Safety/Mutual Aid, Range Control/Training Areas (restricted land, sea, air), Flight line operations, Operations Centers, DOD information services provided by DISA/DLA, and telecommunication matters with commercial carriers (AT&T, Verizon, US CenturyLink, etc). Mr Woehler retired from the Marine Corps in 2005 after spending 20 years conducting varying levels of communication, maintenance, and supply support for the Marine Air Ground Task Force. Mr. Woehler received his Bachelor of Science in Internetworking Technologies in 2005. Mr Woehler is married with 5 children. Off duty interests are: Boy Scout Program, Jeep Jamborees, and Jet Skiing.
