17.10.16 KS2 Christmas Charity Dear Parents & Carers, This year the Harvest donations received from Years 5 & 6 went to Response, a homeless refuge for teenagers. The generosity was greatly appreciated. Our School Councillors would like to continue supporting this worthwhile cause and have expressed a desire to take gifts to the refuge at Christmas. On their request the refuge was contacted, please see the response received from the telephone call: Hi Zoe Phil my colleague passed on your message yesterday about your pupils very kindly donating Christmas Hampers to the young people we work with and support. This is a lovely gesture and one that I know young people appreciate at this time of year, particularly as some of them are estranged from family and therefore Christmas can be quite a lonely and isolating time. With regards to gift ideas and or items included, as it is a Christmas hamper previous suggestions that have been made are toiletries/toiletry gift sets, selection box’s, PJs (always go down well), novelty socks, gift vouchers such as cinema/Asda/Tesco, or any other small gift to represent a Christmas present makes a difference. As we are not a charity and do not get funding to provide luxury gifts like this for young people, your help and support is very much appreciated. Kind Regards

If you would like to donate a gift for a Christmas Hamper, please send it to the school office clearly labelled as “Response” by Thursday 3rd November 2016. We appreciate that not every family will send a donation. It is not obligatory, anything from the suggested list will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued support. Yours sincerely, Years 3, 4, 5, & 6 Unit Leads
