Lottie Moon CHRISTMAS OFFERING OUR GOAL: $20,000.00 RECEIVED: $12,459.00

Pastor’s Pen You will find our Christmas Eve schedule elsewhere in the Herald. Christmas season is a special time for families to celebrate together the birth of our Savior Jesus in Bethlehem. As you celebrate this year, take some time to consider how Jesus’ birth changed the entire world. I spoke this past Sunday about the seeming contradictions surrounding Jesus’ birth. We should also consider the birth of Jesus as the most important event in all of history. But His birth simply re-sets the clock of human history. Prior to that event, all believers in God looked forward to the time of the Messiah. Jesus’ birth began the time of the Messiah. For 33 years, God walked among mankind showing us how to live. Then, He showed us how to have eternal life and really live. As you celebrate, remember to give time for Jesus. And give Him a gift for all He has given us. The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is an opportunity to give a gift to Jesus. Help us reach our goal of $20,000 going from FBC Sanger to worldwide mission causes. Check out the IMB website to see the great work our money supports. Pastor Grant Bowles - Senior Pastor

Where He Leads Me... A family of skunks went for their morning walk. They came to a fork in the road. The daddy skunk said, "My instinct tells me to take the left fork." The momma skunk said, "My instinct tells me to take the right fork." The baby skunk pondered a moment and said, "My end stinks too but I still don't know which road to take!" “After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi, from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” Matthew 2:1-2 I love the Christmas story and one of my favorite parts is the wise men, the Magi. They did not have all the details, but God revealed the birth of His Son to them and they followed the star that God provided them. It could be dangerous traveling in those days, but they followed the star. It was definitely an inconvenience to leave home and travel during the Christmas Season, (just kidding), traveling in general meant the absence of the comforts of home, but they followed the star. They did not know where they were going and who they would find at the end of their journey, but they followed the star. That is what the Christian life is all about: faith + obedience = IT: straight path, direction, good, blessing, God’s will, God’s provision, a relationship with God, eternal life. Proverbs 3:5-6, Romans 8:28, Jeremiah 17:7, Psalm 37:4-5, Matthew 6:33, Hebrews 11: 8, John 3:16. Just like the wise men had to leave their status quo, Abraham had to leave his good life behind and follow God to the place He would show him. Are you willing to follow Jesus wherever He leads? Are you willing to let go of some things? Are you willing to repent of some things that are holding you down? When He is Lord of your life, when you have a relationship with Jesus, when He is more important than anything else in this world, you are willing to follow. “Where He leads me, I will follow. Where He leads me, I will follow. Where He leads me, I will follow. I’ll go with Him, with Him, all the way.” Br. John Guerra - Associate Pastor
