Glossary: k - knit p - purl yo - yarn over. ssk - slip, slip, knit slipped stitches tog. (decrease). k2tog - knit two together (decrease). Instructions: Cast on 61 stitches. Rows 1 and 2- knit across. Rows 3, 5, 7, 9 - k7, * (k2tog) twice, (yo, k1) 3 times, yo, (ssk) twice, k1* repeat from* to * 4 times, k6. Rows 4, 6, 8 – k6, purl to last 6 sts. , k6. Rows 10, 11, 12- knit across. Rows 13, 15, 17, 19- k7, * (k2tog) twice, (yo, k1) 3 times, yo, (ssk) twice, k1* repeat from* to * 4 times, k6. Rows 14, 16, 18 - k6, purl to last 6 sts. , k6. Rows 20, 21 – Knit across. Bind off all stitches loosely. With wrong side facing you, fold and place left garter edge over right garter edge. Sew the buttons to join both layers (buttonholes are not necessary as the buttons are just decorative). You can use a shawl pin instead of buttons. This piece needs a wet blocking for final shape.
