Things to Know *Before you Begin* All Quantities and cuts are based on 44/45”-wide, 100% cotton fabrics. All measurements include a 1/4” seam allowance, unless stated differently in the directions. WOF stands for Width of Fabric. Sew with right sides together unless otherwise stated. Read through the instructions before beginning your project. All directions have been tested and are presented in good faith, but no warranty can be given nor results guaranteed. We truly hope you have fun with your project!
Cutting Directions
From Background fabric cut: - (6) 2-7/8”x2-7/8”Squares. Subcut in half diagonally once to make (12) Half Square Triangles (A) - (4) 2-1/2”x4-1/2” Rectangles (B) From Green fabric cut: - (8) 1-1/2”x1-1/2” Squares (C) - (4) 1-1/2”x4-1/2” Rectangles (D) From Purple fabric cut: - (8) 1-1/2”x1-1/2” Squares (E) - (4) 1-1/2”x4-1/2” Rectangles (F)
From Orange fabric cut: - (2) 2-7/8”x2-7/8”Squares. Subcut in half diagonally once to make (4) Half Square Triangles (G) From Blue fabric cut: - (4) 2-7/8”x2-7/8”Squares. Subcut in half diagonally once to make (8) Half Square Triangles (H) - (1) 4-1/2”4-1/2” Square (I)
Half Square Triangles
Layout (1) Orange “G” Triangle, (1) Blue (H) Triangle and (2) Background “A” Triangles as shown.
Sew (1) “G” Triangle to (1) “B” Triangle and (1) “H” Triangle to (1) “B” Triangle. Press towards the “G” & “H” Triangles. Blocks should measure 2-1/2”x2-1/2” Square
Repeat Previous (2) steps to make a total of (4) Orange Half Square Triangle Blocks and (8) Blue Half Square Triangle Blocks.

4 Patches
Layout (2) Green “C” squares and (2) Purple “E” Squares as shown.
Sew blocks into rows pressing towards the Purple squares.
Sew rows together to make (1) 4 patch block. Press in the direction of the arrow. Block should measure 2-1/2”2-1/2”
Repeat previous 3 steps to make a total of (4) 4 Patch Blocks.
Pieced Rectangles
Layout (1) Green “D” Strip and (1) Purple “F” Strip as shown.
Sew Strips together along the long side to make (1) pieced rectangle.
Press towards the Purple. Rectangle should be measure 2-1/2”x4-1/2”
Repeat previous (3) steps to make a total of (4) Pieced Rectangles.
Block Assembly Layout (4) Orange Half Square Triangles, (8) Blue Half Square Triangles, (4) 4 Patches, (4) Pieced Rectangles, (4) Background “B” rectangles, and (1) Blue “I” Square as shown.

Sew rows together to create (1) Churn Dash Star Block. Press in the direction of the arrows. Block should measure 12-1/2”12-1/2”
