2007 Police Camp

For the past 11 years, the Lawrence Police Department has hosted the Lawrence Police Department’s Police Camp. The Police Camp is a program established to promote a positive interaction between the Lawrence Police Department and the children of Lawrence ages 8 through 12.

The purpose of the Police Camp is to build life skills, instill confidence and develop self-esteem. The curriculum includes a wide range of activities that incorporate teamwork, physical fitness, general police information and good citizenship.

The Police Department strives to provide a positive learning experience for children during their summer break. The 2007 Police Camp was held June 7-9 at Free State High School.

2007 Awards and Recognition The Lawrence, Kansas Police Department is proud to recognize the following Officers for their outstanding Performance and Achievements for 2007.

Officer Jim Phillips Officer Phillips is the recipient of the Reverance for Law Award from the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Detective Sean Brown Detective Brown received a Letter of Commendation on August 15th for his Special Investigations case work.

Detective Dean Brown Detective Brown received a Commendation Award on August 15th for his work with the RCFL.

Detective David Axman Detective Axman received a Letter of Commendation for the apprehension of an Armed Robbery suspect.
