Data Requirements for Currency Forward Contracts A unique identifier is required for each currency forward. This identifier needs to be associated with positions and transactions. Each currency forward transaction and position should be identified as pertaining to a currency forward. The following table contains the full range of data fields used by Clearwater. The fields listed are critical to reconciliation and must be supplied before the data can be processed. All fields are requested and required field are notated. Please provide as much data as available to ensure accurate reporting. The left two tables comprise of the data needed on a daily basis, while the right table is data only needed at the time of implementation (Initial Load). Definitions/ Explanations of Terms Transaction Types: Buy (opening a contract), Settle (the contract settles). Identifier: The identifier the client would like to see associated with this contract. Note that we need a unique identifier to represent each contract, the position we expect to move out of the account on the settle date, and the position that we expect to move it. Identifier Description: Description of the Derivative. For a currency forward, this should be something like “Currency Forward Contract” Number of Units of currency out: This should be a negative number in the positions file. Number of Units of currency in: This should be a positive number in the position file. Commission: Any commission on the trade.
