Speaker Roster MARK HALEY has been a baseball fan for life. His dad played for the SF Seals in the late 40's against the likes of Billy Martin (Oakland Oaks) after WW II passing on a love for the game. Mark played little league until 9th grade then focused on wrestling and golf in HS. He has coached Little League, Metro Teams, Traveling Tourney Teams, Bulldogs Baseball Academy State Championship Teams and is currently coaching at Vancouver's Columbia River HS. Mark has passed on the love of the game to his son Andrew, they enjoy annual baseball road trips every year. Andrew was a gold glove first baseman at MHCC and is now giving lessons and coaching youth teams at The Lumberyard in Vancouver. Mark has been working with and managing volunteers since 1989, traveling to over 30 countries around the world on short term building projects. He has been in the nonprofit world for over 20 years, the last 15 with Habitat for Humanity.

GREGG SWENSON is the current GM of the Gresham GreyWolves and Portland Pickles. Swenson joined Rose City Baseball after spending 22 years in college baseball, coaching at the University of Washington, Washington State University and the University of Portland. He coached 14 players who have gone on to play Major League Baseball, including Cy Young award winner Tim Lincecum, and has had numerous All-Americans and All-Conference players throughout his career. He is regarded as one of the top performance and mental skills teachers in baseball, and currently consults with players from a variety of sports, and companies throughout the country.

FERNANDO FANTROY, SR has the experience and “know how” to coach athletes into national and worldclass status. After his education at Compton JC in California, Fernando went on to coach seven years of high school at Liberty and Gresham High Schools both as a volunteer and official hurdle coach as well as 15 years in the USATF arena. Fernando has “tried and true” tactics for producing top-notch athletes including himself, an Olympic hopeful in 1984 missing the trials by only .30 in the 800 & 1500 meter runs. After moving to Portland, Fernando spent eight years officiating football from youth to high school level as a certified official for the State of Oregon in two different organizations starting Dare To Dream Track Club in 2001; a nonprofit organization geared toward developing track and field athletes. Fernando Fantroy, Sr is the current co-head coach of Mt. Hood Community College Track & Field where he earned assistant coach of the year his first year on staff.

JOEY LEONETTI has been a fixture in the soccer community for most of his life. Attending the University of Portland, he earned All-American, Regional and West Coast Conference selections, played in the 1988 Final Four, was a Hermann Trophy finalist in 1991, and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2001. Leonetti continued to play indoor and outdoor professionally, for the San Francisco Bay Blackhawks, Seattle Sounders, Portland Pride and Pythons, winning a national championship in 1996 with the Sounders and earning Play-off MVP. With positions at all ages and genders, from club to high school to college, Joey has earned multiple League Coach of the Year honors at both Gladstone and West Linn High Schools, respectively. Leonetti has maintained a coaching career that has now spanned over 25 years, and is currently coaching with Eastside Timbers FC and Oregon City High School. MICHAEL PATRICK has been part of the community for more than 50 years. A father of two sons, two step sons and six grandchildren, both Michael and his wife Sue Piazza have made it their number one priority to give back to the community they serve. This is witnessed by the many civic organizations they serve on, such as Gresham Salvation Army, Legacy Mt. Hood Medical Center Foundation, former Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce and Mt. Community College Foundation board member. He has coached many youth sports over the years, but baseball was and always will be his favorite. CASAUNDRA GARBER is a professional project manager and the current president of Gresham Barlow Youth Baseball / Softball. She started playing softball at the age of 6, was a catcher at Gladstone High School and a walk on center fielder at Willamette University in Salem, OR. CaSaundra has coached teams over the years but found her passion in administration, marketing & communication and project management, volunteering wherever she can to support kids, the City of Gresham and most importantly youth sports.
