Role of First Responders 1.Immediate care of the injured or ill athlete 2.Activation of EMS a. Designate an individual to call 911 b. Caller will provide pertinent information: name, location, telephone number, number of injured individuals, condition of the injured, first aid rendered, specific directions, other information as requested c. Notify campus police at (706) 542-2200 3.Emergency equipment retrieval 4.Direction of EMS to scene a. Loading Dock: designate an individual to wait for EMS at position 1. NOTE: the loading dock may be closed outside of normal business hours b. Training Facility Side Entrance: if the loading dock door is closed, designate an individual to wait for EMS at position 2. NOTE: this door may be fingerprint (FP) access only outside of normal business hours c. Direct EMS personnel to the gym 5.Scene control
Venue Directions The Coliseum Training Facility is located between Smith Street and Carlton Street, attached to Stegeman Coliseum. EMS entrance is through the loading dock on the southwest side of the building (position 1) or through the glass double doors at the top of the brick driveway on the southwest side of the building (position 2). If using the loading dock (position 1), drive all the way in and to the right; the gymnastics practice facility is through the double gray doors to the right. If using the glass doors (position 2), enter the building and turn left; the gymnastics practice facility will be to the right just before the next set of double glass doors. NOTE: the loading dock garage door may be closed outside of normal business hours, at which time the glass doors are fingerprint access only.
Emergency Personnel Certified athletic trainer and athletic training student(s) on site for practice and competition. Additional sports medicine staff may be accessible from the Stegeman Coliseum main athletic training facility.

Emergency Equipment AED, trauma kit, splint bag, spine board, and KED are maintained in the gymnastics satellite athletic training room. Additional equipment is accessible from the Stegeman Coliseum main athletic training facility.
