Camp Director Brittany Simpson Brittany Simpson just finished her 4th year as the head coach after being appointed to the position in April, 2012. Simpson led the Orediggers to the programs best season in school history winning the RMAC Championship and earning an at large bid to the NCAA tournament with a 21-7 record. Coach Simpson was also named RMAC Coach of year and the Orediggers had 3 all conference honorees. Prior to taking over as head coach, Simpson (formerly Rowley) served in the role of assistant coach at Mines for four seasons. She was a member of the coaching staff that took Mines to its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament during the 2009-10 season, in addition to helping lead the Orediggers to a share of the RMAC East Division Title in 2008-09. Mines posted 19 total victories and 14 conference wins during the 2008-09 season with both of those marks setting program records. Prior to her arrival at Mines, Simpson was a graduate assistant at UC-Colorado Springs during the 2006-07 season. She has also worked as the Assistant Director of the Colorado School of Mines Women's Basketball Camps for the past four seasons, and also spent time as a coach at the University of Colorado Individual Camp in 2011. In addition, Simpson also spent time as the Assistant Director/Lead Coach at the UC-Colorado Springs Women's Basketball Camp in 2007 and was a Lead Coach at the Mesa State Individual Camp in 2005-06.

Assistant Camp Director Ashleigh Ackerman Ashleigh Ackerman just completed her second overall season with Mines Women's Basketball. Ackerman spent her first season in Golden as a volunteer assistant coach where she aided in practice, game management, scouting and special events and summer camps, while working for Denver Public Schools. During her second season with the team, Mines Women’s Basketball posted the most successful season in program history. Ackerman has also coached at the high school and NCAA Division III levels and has worked as a camp staff member at the University of Colorado, UC-Colorado Springs, Colorado State UniversityPueblo and the University of Texas.

CSM Women’s Basketball Blaster Camp: Dates: July 11-14 Ages: 7-12 Cost: $170.00 This includes a Mines basketball and t-shirt! Times: Monday—Thursday, 9:00am – 12:00pm Description: This camp is for the girl that wants to become a basketball super star. Blaster camp is focused on teaching each camper the fundamentals of basketball. This is a great opportunity for each girl to learn the skills that can help her become a better passer, dribbler, and shooter. This is also a great opportunity to meet the CSM Women’s Basketball coaching staff and players!

CSM Women’s Basketball Day Camp:

GO OREDIGGERS! Upon registration/check in day of camp, each camper will need to have turned in a liability waiver along with a registration form. *Make Check Payable to CSM Women’s Basketball Refund Policy: If a registered camper is unable to attend camp, they must notify the camp director no later than five days prior to camp in order to receive a full refund. If the camp director is notified after the five days prior to camp, no refund will be issued.

Dates: July 11-14 Ages: 13-18 Cost: $220.00 This includes a Mines basketball and t-shirt! Times: Monday—Thursday, 1:00pm—4:30pm Description: This camp is designed to improve and teach the skills of basketball. Day camp is devoted to teaching, breakdown of skills and drills to improve each camper’s skill level. Fundamentals and skills are the emphasis of this camp.

CSM Women’s Basketball Elite Camp: Dates: July 15-16 Ages: High School (invite only) Cost: $260.00 This includes a Mines Women’s Basketball t-shirt, strap bag and water bottle! Times: Friday, 10:00am - 5:00pm Saturday, 9:00am – 4:00pm Description: This is an elite camp for the high school player that wants to improve on their game while also working towards playing at the college level. Elite camp is devoted to educating players on the recruiting process and to give each camper a sense of what it takes to play at the next level. This will be an overnight camp, more information will be provided on what to bring.

In consideration of Colorado School of Mines making arrangements for and permitting and assisting Camper to take part in this Camp, the undersigned Camper and Parent/Guardian , if appropriate, agree to hold harmless, release, indemnify and forever discharge Colorado School of Mines, and its Board of Trustees, officer, directors, employees, agents, and any persons acting on their behalf, as well as their heirs, executors and assigns, from and against any and all liability, claims, demands, costs and expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in any way connected with any bodily injury or property damage in any way relating to or arising out of Camper’s participation in the Camp, even if the liability, claims, demands, costs and expenses may arise, in whole or in part, out of the negligence or carelessness of the persons or entities mentioned above. The Camper and Parent/Guardian are aware that the Camp may include certain risks and dangers. The Camper and Parent/Guardian understand that risks and dangers can range from minor personal injuries to major injuries. To the best of their knowledge, Camper and Parent/Guardian are not aware of any mental or physical disability or health-related reason s or problems that would hinder or otherwise prevent Camper form safely participating in the Camp. Camper and Parent/Guardian understand that they are solely responsible for any costs arising out of any bodily injury or property damage sustained through or arising form Camper’s involvement in the Camp. Camper’s and Parent/Guardian expressly agrees that the Liability Waiver Form is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of Colorado, and that if any portion herein is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the balance shall continue in full legal force and effect.
