Coach Across America
Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of our Coach Across America Coach will be to directly serve our youth and families through coaching, family engagement, and event coordination. The coach will be responsible for multiple teams, a variety of parent engagement sessions and projects, as well as club-wide events and staffing. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) df
Coach two or three Soccer for Success teams Serve as a substitute Soccer for Success coach as needed Coach two U4 teams once per week during the fall and spring seasons Assist in the distribution of equipment at the beginning of the fall season Serving as a staff trainer for our Site Coordinator and Coaches trainings Build and maintain relationships with Soccer for Success youth and schools by acting as a first-day of practice coordinator
Engage families through the creation of a Soccer for Success newsletter Teach families and youth the importance of nutrition by creating handouts that correspond to the Soccer for Success nutrition themes to send home to families on a weekly basis Engage families and community partners by planning the bi-annual Soccer for Success Jamboree
Serving as a staff coach for our U5-U8 SoccerFest Tournament, our U9-U18 Kelvin Norman Memorial
Tournament and U11-U18 Player Placement Assist in pre- and post-season data collection and entry for the Soccer for Success program

About Organization/ Program
The Rapids Youth Soccer Club provides an environment where young soccer players from diverse backgrounds are guided and inspired to reach their full potential both on and off the field. The Club is committed to providing the community with a model of quality youth development, education and inspiration through the sport. The U.S. Soccer Foundation awarded a Social Innovation Fund Sub-Grant to the Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club in the spring of 2012 to support the implementation of Soccer for Success in Denver and Aurora. Soccer for Success is the Foundation’s free after-school youth development program that uses soccer as a tool to combat childhood obesity and promote healthy lifestyles for children in under-resourced urban communities. The Rapids youth Soccer Club served 1,200 children in Denver and Aurora schools during the 2012-2013 school year and plans to serve another 1,200 children during the 2013-2014 season.

CAA coaches receive extensive training through Up2Us’ Center for Sports-Based Youth Development.
