We have the best customers, and we love to get together with you to Sew WhatEver! On Wednesday evenings from 6:00-9:00 we invite you to join our team to either make the project that has been chosen for that night or bring a project of your own. We can even answer a question here or there about projects you are working on. The best part of the night is hanging out with friends that are “itchin’ to be sitchin’” too! You don’t have to travel far to attend a great retreat and join friends in learning new and amazing embroidery and sewing techniques and projects. Here at Dave’s BERNINA, we will have lots of classes and fun for all. Join your friends or meet new ones at our Spring Break Retreat. Registration fee is $10. THURSDAY, MARCH 17 9:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. Multi Hoop (Part 1) Taught by: Donetta Brewer
“Go big or go home.” You have all heard that saying. It works for me; I like to create large designs. This project can either be the start of a quilt, a pillow or a wall hanging. You will go home understanding the multi-hoop concept. This one is quilted in the hoop also. Part 1 will be done in the BERNINA 7 software. We will also start the embroidery process.
Lace Slip (Part 1) Taught by: Annette Rawlinson Make your own insertion and edging laces with this sweet design pack from My Fair Lady. Covered in roses and scrolls, these lace pieces are sure to please. In Part 1, we will learn about My Fair Lady’s lace-making techniques and stitch out lace pieces so that we may use them in our project.

Computer Basic on Design Download & Transfer Taught by: Donetta Brewer We will explore basic computer skills in this class so that you will feel more comfortable with your computer. Once you feel more confident with the computer, you will want to use it more with your embroidery. You have your designs on a CD, USB stick or your computer, but how do you get them to the machine? We will connect to the Internet and work with getting designs downloaded from our Embroidery Design Studio website. So, if you are taking a class that needs a design downloaded, this class can be a prerequisite for the other class. This class will help you organize your designs and files on your computer, then get the designs to your machine. Come have fun and explore your computer with me. Don’t let the computer master you; you can master it.

Retro Campers are all the rage right now. With summer coming soon, it’s a great time to make some fun hot pads to go in your camper or trailer. These hot pads are chenille, which adds a great texture to the project. See how many you can get done during class, then head out camping or just use at home.
It is time to step outdoors with the creatures of the wilderness. Lunch Box Quilts has done it again! This design pack has silhouettes of wild animals combined with mountain forest settings. Designer Jeans on a Budget Taught by: Wendy Copus Come and learn how to make designer jeans without the high price tag. Learn how to embroidery on the back pocket and leg. PROVO Flower of Life (Part 1) Taught by: Christine Fackrell Create this beautiful medallion from Sarah Vedeler’s “Flower of Life” design collection right in your embroidery hoop. You will use embroidery applique techniques in making this beauty! We will be embroidering the medallion in Part 1. The size and detail of your medallion will be determined by your hoop size. The design is to be downloaded from Sarah Vedeler. If you have questions on how, take the computer class on Thursday night.

FreeStanding Lace Taught by: Wendy Copus This is a fun class of beautiful FreeStanding Lace: in-the-hoop projects that can decorate your home with Easter baskets, brighten someone’s day with tiaras, butterflies or flowers, or can be given as a gift. You may even get two done during the class. There are many designs, but the ones to choose from for class are Design Studio Designs(OESD): Freestanding Lace Bouquet #12454 (the flowers are also sold separately), Freestanding Lace Easter Basket #12584, Freestanding Tiaras & Wands#12609, and Luminous Freestanding Butterflies #12600. Also, I will demonstrate for you how to convert some designs in Metallic Lace by Benartex Studios #82011 and Bella Morocco #82005 to 3D designs for quilts, hairpieces etc.

Semi-Private Sewing Class We can help you learn how to put in a zipper, make buttonholes, sew on buttons using your machine, mend your favorite blue jeans and make decor items for your home. Maybe you want to hem a skirt or dress, make a bed for your dog or cat, or adjust the fit on your favorite outfit. You name the project, and we will help you learn how to do it! Classes are held on the second Thursday or the last Tuesday of each month. This class is limited to four students. Class fee is $20 per class. Remember to sign up early and list your project so your teacher can be prepared to help you.

Flower of Life (Part 2) Taught by: Christine Fackrell Now that you have the design stitched out, make it into a fun bag to have with you. The “Flower of Life” design collection was inspired by the “Flower of Life” symbol that can be found in many spiritual and religious teachings. With its foundation in geometry, there are infinite possibilities for creating designs within the design. The results are a spectacular feast for the eyes that is also soothing to the heart and soul.
