Organisational Summary Crime Stoppers Victoria is an independent not for profit organisation governed by a voluntary Board of Directors and managed by a Chief Executive Officer. Crime Stoppers Victoria strives to create a safer community by facilitating the confidential provision of community information to Victoria Police and other law enforcement agencies. This information assists in building police intelligence and in identifying perpetrators of crime or potential crimes. Crime Stoppers Victoria champions a range of crime prevention and detection campaigns by utilising its reputation of community trust and brand recognition and significant media reach. Role Purpose and Deliverables As Communications Co-ordinator you will be responsible for sourcing and developing all outward focused crime content and driving this to targeted media outlets via a range of mediums. The focus of the position is to drive content to multiple outlets, follow up media placement and reach, and assess success in financial and social outcomes. Fundamental to the role is accuracy, confidentiality and accountability. Accountabilities & Responsibilities Liaise with Victoria Police to source information and produce media releases Weekly and Monthly packaging of media releases to media outlets Liaise with media to publish media releases Develop radio and television scripts Develop and deliver media content for print, television, radio and digital Conduct media interviews on behalf of the organisation Draft speeches and press releases for management team
Follow up on media placements and analyse outcomes Media tracking and analysis and acquittal reports Contribute to content on social media and website Content creation for CSV e-newsletter Assist with the development of media / marketing campaign strategies Coordination of marketing schedules and media bookings Assist with delivery of media and event launches Specific campaign co-ordination including brief liaison, design and artwork, administration, management and evaluation Quarterly reporting analysis

Qualifications, Capabilities & Experience Communications qualifications (BA or equivalent) Advanced computer / IT user with strong skills in Microsoft Office and quick adaptor to new technology Strong administrative and organisational skills Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgement in dealing with confidential matters Problem solving ability with a strong client service focus and a “can do” attitude Highly organised, productive and efficient with an eye for detail Ability to adapt to the ever changing pace of media and campaign deadlines Demonstrate a high level of motivation and commitment to the ethos of Crime Stoppers Victoria Other All applicants must undergo a police check in order to work with Crime Stoppers Victoria. This role may include hours outside of normal business hours. In these instances, Crime Stoppers have a time in lieu policy. This role may include regional travel. All reasonable out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
